how often should a 2week old poop?

My little girl is 2weeks old 2day. She`s only pooping once a day, plenty of wee wee`s tho. I told my mum this n she made me feel a bit worried sayin that she should be going way more than she is. Is this normal?

saywhatyouwill - 875 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my son went from pooping after every feeding to pooping every 5 days or so at about 2 months and I talked to 2 different doctors and health nurses and they all said its fine. They said that as long as hes not sitting there pushing really hard and getting nothing out..or when he does poop as long as its not super hard and rabbit pellet like that it is fine

Breastfed babies can go up to 7 days without a bowel movement before a doctor would become concerned ad 5 days for bottlefed - and thats from birth. That being said, it's more common when breastfed to have an explosive bum after most feeds.. but once day sounds perfect fpr whichever method you feedc. Ignore your Mom... nothing wrong at all.

jacobbs-mommy - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I wouldnt worry thats about the time my LO started pooing once a day and at the time he was expressed breastmilk fed (in the hospital) and the nurses said that it was perfectly normal and that every babys body is different.

blondie9504 - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Well my LO is bottlefed and she poops religiously at the same time every day and only once. So if that's bad, I'm in trouble because she's been doing that pretty much since we came home from the hospital. Her Dr said it was fine. I'm not sure about breastfeeding though.

When I BF my LO she pooped more thn once a day but once I put her on formula, it changed to mainly once a day. Sometimes twice... I've even heard that some babies just may not poop for a few days and that's normal too as long as they don't seem to be in pain or straining to poop.

alreadygot1 - 876 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think if she is breast fed she should be pooping after almost every feed. If she is formula fed I think once a day or every ohther day is normal. I wouldn't worry.. If she seems fine and doesn't seem in pain she is fine.
