At what age did you start potty training your son? My son is still too young but I wanted to get advice on how to start and what worked for you. Any tips??

my son is 2 and is not potty trained yet, I have a potty which he likes sitting on but doesn't do anything on it, i'm not going to start training either until he's ready and shows more signs that he is ready.

My DS is still too young as well but I have a potty ready to use when he is ready. I'm just going to wait until he is ready.

I do not have boys, but I agree with Robin. I have heard the same thing. Do not start too early or it will take alot longer.

Hi i started traing my son at 2, we bought a plain white potty and some car stickers and everytime he used it he got to put a sticker on. He really enjoyed it and made it fun. Hope that helps x

My doc told me with my first that only 50% of boys are potty trained by 3. I started my boys about 2 months or so shy of their 3rd b day and they did fine ~ when taught to soon it can take much longer and regression is more common ~ I personally see no rush ~ Hunter will begin training about 2.75 too ~

I don't remember when we started, nor when we ended. It's a phase, shorter for some than for others. My Tips: 1) He may make progress and then seem to go backward. It's ok. 2) He'll show you when he's ready. 3) It's his pee and poop, not yours, so let him stay in charge. 4) They all get there. It's not a race, and yes, he will get where he's going even he takes a break from training just when you thought you could stop buying diapers.
