My 13 month old is walking and running and climbing and causing general terror which is everything I would expect from my son. I am curious if anybody knows why he has started hiding his toys? He puts them all over the house and I find them in the funniest places--the camera bag, under the stairs, etc. Does anybody know what this is about?

mariettap - 870 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) haha, you've reminded me of some of the best of times with our daughter. We used to call her the family's "Possession Redistribution Specialist," b/c she did it so well, it was like her job.

alreadygot1 - 870 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My 3yr old still does this! Just the other day my mom called and said that she found a finger puppet in her sack of potatos!

tahliasmummyandttc - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Its just a toddler thing, my daughters 21 months and still does it.

MummyLJ - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My daughter did that- I think it's a control thing. Kids have to do what we say all the time, anytime they can be in charge of something, they love it! So putting toys "away" where he wants is something he can do all by himself. My daughter is 5 now, and now her thing is rearranging her room. I miss the hidden toys in my shoes! lol

sarahann - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My daughter did this and still does sometimes. I would find little toys in my work boots when I'd go to put them on, which was so cute! It's all normal, enjoy it!

RobinG - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Just part of being a toddler :) Completely normal and shows good thinking skills I've learned with my sons therapist ~ not sure I understand the whole reasoning part but doesnt matter I guess ~ just know it is a good thing although annoying too when you cant find it :)

xidja - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my daughter is just over 12 mos and doesnt do this yet but i have read that at this age they really like playing hide n seek so maybe he's just playing that by himself??? also their memory is getting really good so maybe he's testing himself and seeing if he can remember where he's hidden them?

abbyquiet - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) awe that sounds cute, my little boy will put toys in shoes, but only every once in a while, and he seems to do it to my uggs the most, maybe because it's a cave. :)

twinmama2be - 871 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Lol, my oldest did this as well. I'd find little cars in my shoes and toys in my purse, etc. He was always putting his toys somewhere strange. Who knows why, no harm in it though. My youngest never did it.
