back pain so bad Added: 870 days ago. Added by: nutnut Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
i have back pain so bad i cant stand up, straighten my leg, or move. it usually happens if im laying on my back for a minute or two. i seriously cannot lay on my back at all. if i sit in a chair for too long i cant straighten up its so painful, my legs go numb too. this baby is also so low he feels like he wants to fall out some days. i didnt have this with myfirst. anyone have similar experiences with their second? my dr said nothing she can do for me unless im loosing bladder and bowel control. she`s actually not the dr. she was the intern they sent to talk to me last appointment. i thought she was pretty weird saying it like that. i mean it seriously takes my breath away, and it takes some time for me to get through it.

omg yes even when i do the dishes it hurts and lifting the laundry basket when its full. i couldnt believe it bc with my daughter i was still working 60+ HOURS a week, unloading huge boxes off the back of a truck and remerchandizing stores (including moving the heavy shelves and adjusting them) but i feel like an 80yr old lady with this kiddo. its worse when i try to sleep bc im up every 2 hours bc i either have an extreme urge to pee or my back is hurting so much it wakes me up and i have to readjust to try to get comfortable. it takes me awhile to get back to sleep then im up again two hours later like clock work. i have about 8 pillows on my bed all around me to prevent me from rolling on my back plus the one i keep between my knees. im typicaly a belly sleeper, which i cant do anymore. i hate sleeping on my side and i wake up flat on my back in pain. it really sucks. i hate sounding like a big complainer. i just didnt believe the intern that there isnt anything at all i can do to make it a bit more tolerable. i didnt necessarily even mean medication when i spoke to her, but at least some suggestions. i hope i have my dr next appointment. im a little concerned with the baby being so low and my back. my mother had horrible back labor with me, and if i cant lay on my back now, im worried it will be so much more painful laboring on my back. i want to know what other options they have if my back doesnt get better. thanks for letting me know that im not nuts and there are things to try. =)))

i dont know if pain meds help or if you've tried anything but there are pain meds that are safe to take while pregnant like tylenol #3 and vicodin (use sparingly of course)

Oh yeah, I had it bad with my second. He was my largest baby, 8lbs4oz. It was especially bad in the morning when I first got out of bed. I would have to get out all hunched over holding on to the dresser and work gradually work my way up into a standing position. It was only that bad with him. I mean, I had some pain with my others, but it was tolerable. That was not! I just suffered through b/c I didn't know what to do for it and didn't have the internet, lol! I used a heating pad with this last pg. Hope you feel better soon!

Wow, that sounds soo bad <3, I would talk to the regular doctor, sounds like severe siatica. My back pain get's worse with each pregnancy and happens sooner, but man, nowhere near what your feeling <3. Hot water bottle on lower back (or microwave hot pack), for me sleeping with a pillow between my legs, on my side helps... Hope it get's better <3

I had that with my first child. I was told that it is siatica. How far along are you? I was told not to do any lifting, sweeping, mopping etc. I even had to watch when I did dishes as my sink was really low. Only thing that helped me was sitting in water.
