I`ve been having bad lower back pain and im wondering if you think it would be okay to use a heating pad on my back? I have a plug in one that has settings so I`m thinking it should be okay, especially if it`s on low... what do you think?

EllaG - 868 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm 31 weeks and I could not survive without my heating pad. I only use it when I need it (which is almost all day) and only ever on my back. My doctor said so long as its not on my stomach, or raising my body temp, its fine. Just be sure to drink lots of water so you don't get dehydrated.

BabyMakerMachine - 869 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think it's another one of those things....opinions are like *blankedy-blank*, everyone's got one. My doctor with my first said it was fine, but limit the use---20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. My doctor with my second said go for it! Sleep on it if you have to! And my friend's doctor said to avoid heating pads at all cost! I would imagine that as long as it's on a low setting and not directly on your stomach, it should be fine. Just make sure that it doesn't raise your body temp because high body temps can cause contractions.

babyluv08 - 869 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) WOW, I guess all Drs ARE different. I did so used a heating pad then mentioned it to my DR and he advised me not to do it again. He has 25+ years XP and I was high risk. So ask your Dr then ask why he thinks it is okay or not okay
