I have never had a c-section before but as of Friday via U/S they found that he`s already over 10 lbs. So they are not giving me an option. I am so scared. I have no idea what to expect. Please if anyone could tell me what to expect before, during and after I would really appreciate it? Like will my milk come in? Will I bleed like with a vaginal delivery? Since he`s soo big will I be able to lift him? ECT.... See I really have no clue. Anyone, Everyone Please help!!!

See this as a blessing. You will get to know exactly when to expect your little one. You will have time to prepare. It's a nice environment, they normally play some music in the or and they can talk a bunch of nonsense, but very relaxed. When that baby is out, they stitch you up, you don't feel a thing, you can enjoy the birth of your child. Later on you will feel some pain, but nothing that some good painkillers can't handle. I had my cs on the thursday, I went home the Saturday morning, and cleaned the house when i got there lol, not because i had to, because I wanted to. I am having another csection in feb, I honestly do not have the guts to go natural.

Do your research aside from on here and speak with your OB. I have had 2 c-sections and will be having another one this time around. I bled for 5 weeks with my first and 7 weeks with my second. But it's not uncommon to not bleed at all, just depends on the person. Breast feed right away. Your milk may take an extra day or so to come in but as long as you keep nursing you shouldn't have any problems. Mine came in about 3-4 days PP. You will be able to lift him, but nothing heavier. I had stiches but some DR's also do staples, be sure to ask what you will be having. The experience itself isn't that bad - it's a little surreal though. And be sure to take your pain meds afterwards and follow DR's orders and most importantly for the first 2 weeks take it easy.

I had 2 c- sections and must say that it was little painful afterwards so definitevely use the pain meds whenever u feel a little pain. Make sure u take care good of your incision- they will tell you how in the hospital- to avoid any infection. But otherwise you should't have no problem to lift your baby, i had to lift my toddler when i was about 1 week postpartum and it was fine make sure you don't overdo it listen to your body.
I never bf my first but it had nothing to do with the c-section. With my second one it was no problem and i'am still bf at 10 months pp.
Since i never had vaginal birth i cannot compare the amount of bleeding. But mine was heavy maybe first couple days and than light bleeding for another 3 weeks.

Do you know what i worried about everything u have said to. My first was an emergency c-section which was awful because i just wasn't prepared for that and i felt very disappointed. My second though was a planned c-section because she was breech and the expierence was completely different. It was very relaxed as i went for meeting before hand so i knew exactly what was going to happen. Your milk come in the same as with a natural around 2-3 days after. I won't lie and it is painful afterward but probably at its worse for maybe 3 days and then it starts to get easier. You will be able to walk about and go upstairs and things but just take it easy. Its painful but not as bad a s you think and after its all healed you forget it like they say you do after a natural birth. I remember after two weeks feeling fine but would hurt if i moved quickly or tried the stairs to fast but its bearable. I mean alot of mums go home to toddlers after a c-section and luckily mine was 5 so not so demanding. You'll be fine, the prospect is very scary and i know how u feel. I felt the same for my second c-section but i think the apprehension is normal for any birth because ultimately you can never know whats going to happen until it has. Good luck its not that bad and as long as your both OK at the end that's all that matters xxx

And also, I was advised to use as much pain meds as I needed in the first few days. I was told that women who use adequate pain relief in the beginning generally have a quicker and easier recovery, rather than try to tough it out in pain. I agree, don't baby yourself but you will know how much you feel comfortable doing.

Yes your milk with come in as with a natural delivery, c-sections do not affect your ability to breastfeed. I was told you can expect to bleed as much as a natural delivery. You shouldn't have any problems lifting him but your OB and midwives will be able to advise you exactly on how far you should push yourself physically. Breastfeeding can be a little bit difficult because of the incision but it's definitely possible, I was breastfeeding my twins within roughly 12 hours. I have a blog on my page if you'd like to read it and please feel free to ask me any other specific questions. Good luck and don't stress.

Everyone recovers different. Your milk should come in within a few days after delivery. You should bleed, but probably not as bad as a vaginal delivery, since they suck most of it out. You should be able to lift him (unless something would come up), they usually tell you nothing heavier then your newborn for the first few weeks. Just gotta take it easy, listen to doctors orders, try not to baby yourself (as hard as it can be) since that can actually slow your healing down, remember to make yourself walk (it really does help), but remember not to overdue it either. If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask. I've had 2 sections so far. Good luck with everything! (:
