I hope you are still trying to breastfeed your little one! My 3rd child could not latch until 2 weeks old. Hang in there! I fed him with a syringe for 2 weeks, then was to the point of giving up... I gave him an Avent bottle a time or two and then it was like a light went on in his little head and he figured out how to latch and nurse! Good luck!

I would say get a nipple shield and try that. Also like the other girls said lactation nurse would be a big help. I am sure they have them at your local hospital or local clinic. good luck!!!

I was going to say the same thing.. talk to a lactation nurse.. I went to one and it helped a lot! also you could try nipple shields that can sometimes help with latching on and so it doesn't hurt quite as much. if you are also using formula I would pump a lot to keep up your supply.. goodluck!

Not too late! Call your pediatrician or the hospital where you delivered and ask for a lactation consultant. I suggest this b/c you will get face to face help with soeone who will assist you to achieve that latch so your baby can get back to the breast and you can get over the hump. It's a doozy, but you and your baby can do it! Best wishes!
