Mitzy82 - 861 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) agree with mariettap, I to was constipated for the first 3 months of my pregnancy, coloxyl with senna is a grate stool softener. I was petrified of taking any thing as constipation was only something i had heard old people talk about. I now have a high fibre diet and purchased a water bottle that I carry with me every where and have had no issues since. Good luck with it

mariettap - 861 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) stool softeners are fine in pregnancy, but laxatives are not. I had a very hard time with this as well, to the point of pains and no longer desiring food. The solution was simple: Drink more water. I kept a little notepad in the kitchen and poured glass after glass to drink. OJ, milk, selter water, H2O, decaf tea, lemonade, hot chocolate. If I didn't consume 5 glasses of fluid by noon, I knew I'd be doomed for days. Some of our bodies just need a little more attention in that department. Your body is still building up its blood volume, and your amniotic fluid refreshes itself constantly. All of that is going to need more water. Lots. You'll be much more comfortable for the term if you drink up.

Firsttimemum78 - 861 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Contipation is common in pregnancy. You need to makesure you are drinking loads of water for starters - I drink 6 - 8 PINTS of water a day on top of any other drink. Eating loads of fruit and veg also helps as does orange juice. I was very contipated in the first couple of months (as well as suffering from IBS) but have managed to keep it under control using above methods. I hope this helps. I feel for you as it can be painful, but its important to keep eating for the sake of your baby. Good luck xoxox
