I am 14 weeks pregnant and have been getting 2 to 3 headaches a week. I have been taking hot showers. I normally sit on the bottom and let the water beat on my back, after that I lay down with a warm washcloth across my forehead. It seems to help. I have been taking 2 extra strenght tylenol. A massage also helps. I hope this helps..

drink more water. or eat a candy bar. (maybe your blood pressure is low)> but for me, I noticed that when I start getting headaches, I drink water and the headache goes away. But then again, have you ever had migraines before? They are unbareable, but common in pregnancy. You can't do anything about migraines. But you should know when you have one of those- sound bothers you, light bothers you, and you may feel like you are going to throw up. Hang in there! I hope it gets better soon!

ugh headaches suck. i got headaches all thorugh the first trimester, and they really sucked but sometime durring the second trimester after they had stopped already i got this headache that got worse and stayed with me for over a week, it got worse and worse and felt better only when i was lying flat. any time i moved around it would come back with a vengence. my ob just told me to take more tylenol. but like you said it wasn't helping at all. so i called my regular doctor she said it was a sinus infection and gave me an antibiotic (z-pack) and it cleared up within days. mucinex-d also helps a lot if it's a sinus infection. feel better!!

i can relate, i get headaches as well. my obgyn prescribed me vicodin. tylenol #3 is also safe. i know regular tylenol does not always help if the headache is really bad.

The only thing that helped my headaches was lots of water & a heating pad across my forehead. I also got regular massages to releive tension. Most of the time I just suffered through them. I think that's all anyone can do. Good luck!

hi sorry your having headaches. i suffered with headaches during the early part of my second pregnancy. the only thing i found that helped except for paracetamol was drinking plenty of water and just lying really still. try not to think about the headache too much. Also i do think you should see your Doctor as i was always advised if you have a headache for 3 days straight then go in and see him.
I would also try what firsttimemum78 said about inhaling olbas oil or even just sit in your bathroom with the hot taps on to get the steam in there. x

I have also been suffering with a lot of headaches throughout my pregnancy so know where you are coming from. I was initially suffering with sinusitis which felt likemy head was in a vice the whole time - felt worse when Idropped my head forward. I was prescribed a nasal spray for this, but hot baths/showers as well as inhaling with olbas oil helped loads to clear my sinuses.
Inhaling as well as hot baths/showers has also helped with other headaches. If you are stressed then maybe you could get your partner to massage your shoulders and back for you as this may also help. My doctor was not particularly helpful and just told me to do neck exercises and to take the full paracetamol (tylenol) dose to see how that went. Touch wood they have eased off recently. Good luck - I hope this helps?? xxx
