hii ladies i have a question for you.. i had an US today and as per my LMP i am 37wks 3 days but baby was measuring 2 weeks behind at 35 weeks. This has pushed my due date from 4th nov to 17 nov...my doc said it was normal for the baby to measure behind... but i am really concerned and want to know if you girls have any idea about it being normal for the baby to measure 2 weeks behind?? or should i get a second opinion from another doctor?

tassy - 850 days ago thank you ladies for sharing your experience and views on this.. i appreciate all your answers and it has definately helped me relax a little...

nevertooyoung19 - 851 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son had mesured 2 weeks ahead by his head and two weeks behind by his femur bone and body, so you gotta take into consideration that about halfway through, the genetics takes over and babies begin becoming unique, so its probably just that your baby is a smaller baby. that is why the weight in babies varies so much and what not, each one is different. ( : i would say instead of being worried, be happy, that is a bit less flesh you have to "pass" lol

luvbeingamom - 851 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I measured 2 weeks behind for a while. i even had an ultra sound at 38 weeks b/c they were worried that the baby was breech/ and to small to be born (despite a quickly approaching induction date and dialation). However, they never changed my due date. They told me that after the org markers at the 12 week U/S they told me that every baby grows differently and at different rates. Which is why there is 9lbs babies and 5lbs babies. Good Luck to you.

xidja - 851 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) well i do not have experience in late pregnancy with this but i can tell you that according to my LMP i would be 13 wks and when i went in for my u/s i was only 8 wks 4 days! (9 wks now)

Julianna - 851 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Usually that late in pregnancythey don't change your due date....I'd get another opinion

RobinG - 851 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Def normal :) 2 weeks is not usually a sign of a concern and I'm surprised doc moved due date. Usually it is only changed it more then 2 weeks off. And it is very common that they are WAY off usually later in pregnancy. Some can be even 3-4 weeks off, lol. Did you measure fine in the first 12 weeks u/s? Those are most accurate and should be the ones doc is going by. If your earlier u/s showed 37 weeks than I would suggest you get doc to keep date as is. Baby being a bit smaller doesnt change the fact that the baby is developing on time and at 37 weeks and ready to come. Thing is unless you are schedule for a section of induction the due date will not matter ~
