Alright so I`ve been completely reluctant to get the H1N1 vaccine so far, I still am, but now there`s an outbreak which I am second-handedly (but closely) exposed to... I`ve heard pros and cons, arguements, etc.. everything on this topic- I wanted to hear more opinion from other pregnant women

I got it yesterday and today my arm doesn't even hurt anymore. My midwife suggested it and I trust her. I have one healthy baby from following her instruction and will soon have two.

sarahann - 848 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I'm 25 weeks pregnant and got the vaccine the other day. I've been fine since, with no reaction whatsoever. I have been exposed at work to the virus as several workmates and members of the public who I deal with have tested positive for it. I have had to take Tamiflu after one exposure and it made me so sick, vomiting and headaches etc. So anyway, because of my work, I couldn't risk not getting the vaccine. Pregnant and new mothers have died from swine flu and babies have been still born to mothers who have caught it. Having already lost a baby there is no way in the world I want to risk having anything happen to this one, so I would do anything to prevent this baby dying, especially if it only means getting one vaccine. It's a personal choice, but I'm relieved now that I've had it. It also protects your newborn baby for several months after birth.

Everyone has strong opinions one way or another & supporting "facts" can be given either way, but its impossible to figure out what is really truth! I have never gotten a flu vaccine before, but my Dr is urging me to do so, so I'm going to follow her advice. The way I see it is that I follow her advice in every other aspect of my pregnancy, so why stop here? I'm nervous, though, because I have heard so many negative things.

jaclynb - 848 days ago My ob had mailed a letter out encouraging us but saying it was our choice to get it- some of my pregnant friends have got it, and others are giving me a difficult time about even considering it so I'm definitely on the fence

bee2bee - 848 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am worried about catching it myself. My doctor is still waiting to get there shipment in. I went to the public health department and went to get it but they wouldnt let me because I needed my ob's permission.
