i need some suggestions on how to get my 5 month old to nap on her own in her crib. right now the only way she will nap is if someone is holding her. she goes to bed fine at night and seems to love her crib its the days i need help with. any suggestions would be helpful

aidensmommy1 - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would get room darkening shades if you don't already have them. THis made a huge difference for my son. He would sleep great at night but wouldn't during the day we eventually figured out it was to light in his room, the day we got those shades he slept great. Also those musical toys for cribs are great to!! Good luck!

RobinG - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My babies all napped in the glider, swing or bounce seat til about 8 months even though they slept in crib sooner. Naps they are in a ligher sleep and need to feel a bit more cozy and bundled up. I had two daycare babies this past spring and both napped in carseat til 7-8 months.

hunnybunnysmama - 848 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) maybe try swaddling her - if you don't alread - so she feels that same comfort as being held and make sure her room is pretty dark. but yah, following the same routine as bedtimes is good advice too.

jumpingbean - 848 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would do exactly the same thing that you do when you put her to be at night. I always put my 4 month old in bed semi awake, kiss her and say good night sweetheart mommy and daddy love you. Then I turn her musical toy on (it has automatic shut off) and leave and close the door. She's been sleeping through the night for a while and has 2 2 hr naps during the day.
