MY 7 WEEK OLD BABY KEEP THROWING UP AFTER EVERYFEEDING SO I TRIED GIVEING HER FORMULA AND SHE STILL GETS SICK DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

jaclynb - 846 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ask the doctor about colic!

RobinG - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would make sure you arent over burping her ~ BFbabies often dont get a bubble so dont burp often or always. After feeding allow her to sit upright for a bit then rub her back and genlty burp. If there is nothing after a bit let her go. Over burping can cause spit up ~ Also watch your intake of dairy and soy. Both can cause it too and def call your doc as there are meds for reflux too ~ mercedesp. Babies can have formula from day one so it is never to early to give formula ~

mariettap - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It does sound like the experience we had with reflux. I did a lot of reading online about it, and most sources agreed to avoid formula, b/c formula tends to make it worse. If already on formula, then you could start shifting around to find a less upsetting one, but if breastfeeding is working out, stick with it! You can ask for a prescription or advice from your doc about an OTC medicine for reflux. It worked wonders for us. I found it very scary putting my baby to bed at night b/c she often threw up shortly after I lied her down. It does go away by 6-8 mos in most cases, with or without medicine. The medicine was awful, just awful, but it did make her a lot more comfortable, and she stopped throwing up in her crib in the middle of the night!

jumpingbean - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my daughter was doing this and it turned out that she was lactose intolerant so any time I had milk she was sick. Tried formula and she was sick on it. We finally switched her to lactose free and she is doing great.

mommy-to-be-2010 - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i didnt know that there was a too early to give babys formula, im not breast feeding im just gonna give my son formula fro the start.

sweetbabyboy - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) well don't just do it, take her to the Dr's and explain everything. I was worried hat it was too early as well but the Dr explained that risking allergies at the moment was better than my son throwing up all the time and he was in pain all the time as when he would throw up because his stomach acid would burn him and then he wouldn't wanna eat anything for days!! Is she in pain with the throwing up? even still if she throws up a lot and starts loosing weight or not gaining any then the Dr may suggest cereal.

mercedesp. - 847 days ago but isnt it to early to give her formula? she is 7 weeks old?

sweetbabyboy - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sounds like it could be reflux. My son was doing the same thing and we had to put cereal in his bottles for a while to make it heavier in his belly until he could eat it off the spoon.

nutnut - 847 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) maybe she has reflux? or shes eating too much too fast? or shes getting air? take her to the dr. i had that with my daughter bc she kept wanting to eat. so the dr had me feed her a little rice cereal before her bottles and put her on different formula. she did fine after that.
