H1N1 Vaccine??? Added: 844 days ago. Added by: vickiessecret Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I`m really confused on what to do. I don`t wanna get the vaccine, it`s really new, it was developed very quickly. I`ve been doing reading online about the risks and all that stuff. Can`t seem to get a straight answer on the risks and side effects.. Probably because they don`t know enough about it or what can happen down the road because of it right??? If I was to get the swine flu and get it taken care of, I`m not gonna die and my baby will be ok?? I`m really confused. I heard of pregnant women having the swine flu getting treated and being fine... Your answers and opinions will be greatly appreciated..Thanks.

I will be getting the shot partly because I am pregnant and partly because I work in a high school. You need to do research on what type of shot is being offered in your area as there are different varieties. I am in Canada and read the FAQ about the vaccine on the government website. I will be getting the adjuvanted version because the adjuvant is made of natural ingredients and this version has way less thimerisol than the non-adjuvanted version. I feel the benefits far outweigh the potential risks but everyone has to make their own decision.

I was told that the regular flu vaccine is a prediction of what strain will be going around next year... So, basically, no guarentees you're going to be vaccinated against the regular flu strain that's floating around... My doctor has not so much as mentioned Swine Flu/vaccines with me. He does not consider a pregnant woman remotely high-risk (I.E. weakened immune system). I recently got a cold and shook it off in like 3-weeks --everyone else I know who got the SAME COLD was sicker for longer then me! Lol. About Swine Flu vaccine --the overall decision is YOURS, but I won't be getting it unless me doctor gives me good enough reasons to get it! :-D

I am going to get it, but not for my little one. THe h1N1 is similar to the regular flu vaccine. It is only another strain of flu. The regular flu is H2N3 so theyre not too different. The regular flu vaccine is made different each year to protect you from whatever strain is going around.. So it would be similar to a flu shot so its just as new as the regular shot would be. I am still on the fence about it but Im going to get it since my baby cant,to at least protect him from it! Good luck.

I have refused this vaccine for my children and myself. There is no long term studies that can show what will happen and I'm not willing to risk it!

I'm hearing about all these pregnant women who died because of it. Did they wait too long and never get medical attention and get it treated??
