okay so i had a baby 11 months ago and since then i have been on the contraceptive pill but the other day i missed a pill abd had unprotected sex on that same day... i had only took 4 pills so far for that cycle, then i missed 1. what are the chances that i might be pregnant??

lulabell7 - 28 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Its a a very low chance

By missing one pill early in your cycle, the progestin and estrogen that the pill supplies to stop the ovulation process was missing for 24 hours - so, that break might be enough to get the suppressed follicle stimulating hormone going. When you had sex, there would not have been an egg waiting, but sperm can live for 5 days. If you do ovulate due to the missed pill, it will likely happen a week or so from now. If you stick to your pills on time for the rest of the month you should be fine, as even if an egg matures, staying on the pill will likely keep it from getting released... even if the egg does release, and get fertilized, the pill would likely keep it from implanting. Good luck!
