Hi Ladies!! my 5 month old son has hard poop all the time, he starts straining and I have to take his diaper off and lift his legs up to help him get it out!! sometimes he gives up and it goes back in and sometimes he cries, he eats veggies and some fruits but it is still bad. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

RainbowRach - 834 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hello, I am certainly no expert but I think plenty of water is the key x

Julianna - 836 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) We used dark karo Syrup in Our sons' bottles to loosen them up. A little watered down juice may work also, but then they get a taste for juice kind of early on. I'd say to stick with a tablespoon of dark karo Syrup in 1-2 bottles every day.

Hebelboy2 - 836 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son had a serious poop problem. I had an older woman tell me about something she did and her mom did with her and so on and so forth. Add a tbls. of Cairo syrup to one bottle a day... this loosens up his stool. It worked for my son and we had no more struggles. Once he seemed to be on a decent schedule, stop with the syrup because you don't want him ingesting that much sugar for too long... Good luck!!!

I give her one sippy of cup of water down juice(apple/prune or pear) and it helps keep everything soft and no straining. I make sure she gets lots of water also. This works for us.
