Hi, my baby boy is 4 mths old and I am still breastfeeding him.. Since he was only a few weeks old he has suffered from quite bad eczema on most of his body.. Can what I eat be causing this and if so what should I avoid or eat to help him??? Desperate to help him.. Thinking about changing to formula even though I dont want to..

Basically what my doc told me anything that comes from a cow (milk, possibly even meat) babies can be allergic to. My 3 year old son has this as well but did not develop it until he was almost 1, he is now 3 and still having issues. Most kids grow out of the allergy between 3-5 years of age. If you determine that your son does have this allergy keep in mind when he is ready that he may not be able to tolerate cow's milk when the time comes. I give my son soy milk right now, but there are other alternatives as well (rice milk, almond, goat milk). I would ask your doc what they suggest. Good luck!

desiree79 - 834 days ago I will definately try it... Oh gosh.. I hope I can do it... I like cheese way to much... But my bubba is worth it.. Thanks for the advise...

We found out that she has a milk protein allergy and I cut all dairy out of my diet and she is a 100x better. It does take 2-3 weeks to notice an improvement because it takes that long for the dairy to get out of your system. I'm not sure if your baby has the same issue but you could try it and see what happens. Good Luck!
