At 16 weeks I measured 20 weeks, she sent me for a scan the very next week. And what do you know....there was twins! The only way to know for sure is a scan. If your doctor won't do it, you can always go to the hospital and make up a story about being concerned so they will do a scan lol. Then you will know! Good luck in your journey and keep us posted! Twins aren't really as bad as it seems in your head.

Brittany Lane - 15 days ago Thanks guys for your comments and no I havent had a scan yet, since we heard the heartbeat through the doppler he felt no need to do a u/s also he told me we will find out soon enugh if it is twins we will do the u/s next month but that is also to fnd out the gender.

RobinG - 15 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is very common to be bigger faster with a 2nd. If they suspected twins they'd do a scan. And at 13 weeks I'd think you've had one already right? They would have seen two if so.

ShMac - 15 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If your doc thought there might be more than one, he should have given you a scan asap. I would request one. They can do one as early as 6 weeks to make sure there is only one.

I measured larger on my second pregnancy but my doctor was not concerned. Neither was I until I went for an u/s around the 6 month mark and found out I was carrying twins.

3rd - 15 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Most women always show sooner and seem larger with subsequent babies.. I was huge with number two compared with my first, but everything evened out by the time I reached the 30 week and onwards mark... If your ob was concerned about a multiple pregnancy, he'd surely have arranged a scan to check and make sure?
