Fruits to eat Added: 825 days ago. Added by: Mama Bri Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I have been craving fruit since I found out I was pregnant. My body takes to some fruits more than others. Is there a certain limit on what kind of fruits to eat or how much fruit I should and shouldn`t be eating a day?

I am the same as you - I just love eating stuff that's juicy and full of flavour. There are some myths about pineapple, but I have eaten lots of it because it's in season here at the moment and it's so sweet and juicy. I have been eating 5 or 6 serves of fruit a day. I had the 28 week glucose test last week and came out fine, no diabeties or anything. Things that aren't juicy, like apples and bananas aren't as appealing to me.

Just make sure to eat a variety of fruits and veggies too. Each fruit has its own nutrient or vitamin. Eating different fruits will benefit you more than just eating the same thing over and over. But great for you! It is better than just eating processed foods. You can never eat too much fruit!

My drs (OB & naturopath) told me 3 servings of fruit & 4 of veggies a day. Limit fruit juices; stick to actual fruit. Some of the healthier ones are cantaloupe, watermelon, berries (straw-, rasp-, black-, blue-), granny smith or other apples on the less sweet end of the range, grapefruit, kiwi. Grapes are really high in sugar, as are oranges, so best to limit or avoid those, or other fruits that are obviously dripping with sugar. Too bad that cantaloupe isn't great right now as in the early months of my pregnancy, I ate half of one every day - and I miss that!

that was my only craving as well, def cut out all fruit juice and limit yourself to 1-2 pieces of fruit a day. my nutritionist advised me of this to avoid diabetes or just too much sugar, and its worked so far. before she told me that i figured, its fruit better than all the other things i could be craving or eating... guess i was wrong :(
