baby shower Added: 820 days ago. Added by: shyangel0295 Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Hi Ladies, I am 16 weeks pregnant and go in in 3 weeks to find out what I am having. The doctors and I are pretty sure that it is a little girl but honestly it really doesn`t matter as long as the baby is healthy. My question is I already have a son, is it appropriate to have another baby shower?

i would think if someone else is throwing it for you, why not? i dont understand why ppl think its wrong to have a shower for each child. i dont think my family is going to be having one for me, bc the family is so scattered now, most would not be able to come. however if we all lived closer they would give me one even though i have a 7 yr old already. plus it would be aroudn the holidays and i wouldnt want to have that extra expense to my family anyway. i dont see it as wrong to have another shower.

A shower is about celebrating the mommy and and new baby; it's appropriate for EVERY pregnancy!! And even if you don't *need* much (or any) new baby stuff, it's still fun for people to get something for a new baby - and every LO deserves a few new things!!

i had one with each of mine but i never planned any of them. with this last one my friend asked if she could do one for me and i was very hesitant as it was my 3rd and i already had a boy and a girl but her answer was "its not his fault he's the third, plus everyone wants an excuse to eat cake" so she gave me one but i asked her to keep it small.

yes, This is a new pregnancy. A new baby. The new baby deserves the attention and support.

If someone wants to throw it for you, hell yes! I think it all depends on how far apart the kids are, but in your case you are having a different sex than the first one so you need girly stuff! I had my boys 17 months apart and no one even mentioned a shower for my second. Which I was cool with.
