jennymomof3 - 817 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yep, ice was what I used and elevated feet if you work. That's about all you can do, mine were gone after delivery....I don't miss that part of the pregnancy.

blessed-again - 818 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Oh i have been there. Very uncool. Lying down really helps (though easier said than done). Mine also went away as soon as I delivered.

mama2be12.24.09 - 818 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) only cure is having the baby, me and one other woman now in 35 weeks both have it and its miserable

Third - 818 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Has she just had a baby? I had varicose veins in my labia which developed about a week post-partum and disappeared by about 4-5 weeks post-partum. All I was told was to rest and to keep the area iced up. Ice restricts the blood vessels, therefore, blood is redurected elsewhere allowing the sagging veins to recover themselves. Also, I was told the cause was because I was on my feet too much too soon after the birth and I should have been resting a LOT more than I was.. Tell her to take things easy and continue to ice. Witch Hazel soaked pads, cooled in the fridge, can also help tremendously.. If she's not post-partum and it's been ongoing for longer than 3-4 weeks, I'd seek medical help.. and I empathise greatly, it's such a nasty, nagging, dull achey pain.. I would only get relief when horizontal/ Oh, and tell her to raise her legs,. my midwife said this would help..
