I have an adult friend whose husband is not circumsized. When having this discussion with her, she told us how humiliated he feels each and every time another man might see his un-circumsized penis. He is in the Army so he is exposed to other men from time to time showering etc. He is so concerned about the comments/reactions he gets, he has even thought about trying to have it done now even though he is in his 30's! Even though he is not circumsized and his son will look different than he, they plan to have the baby boy they are expecting circumsized so that he can avoid such "humiliation" in the future when his peers in sports etc. might see him naked.

My thinking is this: if your boobs looked different to your Mum's or Sister's boobs, would you feel out of place? I don't think so.
mariettap, the only way to avoid STD's is to wear a condom, and arguing on that point seems a waste of time.
I don't think your boy will notice or even care that his penis is different to your other family members until he is older and by then it probly won't matter to him. What a hard decision to have to make!

Controversial, I know, and I have mixed feelings myself. But I found this article that might tip the scales for you. http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSTRE56F7BG20090717
