i`m currently 20 weeks and 1 dat pregnant with my first and am always filled with the fear of something going wrong especially since i`m not sure what to look for in the movements of the baby... many ppl tell me it feels like fluttering butterflies but i never have that sensation so it bothers me greatly but the doctor says everything is fine and dandy the same with the ultra-sounds...so am i just worrying to much???

It is good to pay close attention, but don't let it consume you. With my first I worried all the time and didn't really feel the baby move until about 25 weeks. With my second I started feeling the flutters at about 13 weeks, but I knew then what I was feeling. It just takes time to adjust to the new sensations. I'm sure that everything is just fine. Good luck!

From what I've noticed some women can feel the baby REALLY early and some women it takes a long time. Also the feeling is different for everyone. I know when I was pregnant I felt a lot of different feelings. I wouldn't worry if the Dr said everything is fine. I'm sure soon we'll start feeling things. I would feel sometimes, but wasn't sure for a while.

I didn't really feel my first until week 22. Don't worry soon enough you will be praying that the baby stops dancing on your bladder long enough for you to fall asleep. Good luck

I didn't feel my baby move until 21 weeks, and even after that it could be days between movements that I felt. But now he moves like a crazy little acrobat for at least 4 or 5 good long sessions every day. It's hard not to worry sometimes but just know that it's different for all of us, and while some women feel their baby flutter early on, some of us never feel flutters (I didn't), and don't feel movements until much later. to answer your other question, every week you successfully get through, greatly reduces the odds of a m/c. At 20 weeks you are in really good shape, and the odds of losing the little one are very small. just believe everything is OK, and before long you'll actually be wondering if the LO will ever *stop* knocking around in there, lol!

That would make me worry too but you are probably worrying too much. Maybe you should buy a fetal monitor? At least if you can track the heartrate it will make you feel a little better. Also, when I couldn't feel my daughter move, I would drink a Mountain Dew and lay down for a few. It always woke her up lol! And sometimes I'd poke at her too and that would help. And even taking a shower made her flop around too, she loved the water feeling when I was pregnant and she loves bathtime now. Good luck!

Don't worry, I didn't feel the "butterflies" until about 21 weeks. I was concerned too and my dr reassured me that is a perfectly normal time to feel the baby for the first time. She even told me that lots of people just imagine it is happening but it's not! :)
