I went over 16 days past my due date and thought I had gone into labor in a similar situation. Before bed: Take 2 Tylenol, a warm shower, and drink a little water (not too much, you don't want to be up tinkling all night! LOL!) If you still have regular contractions by morning, I would say it is probably early labor and not BH or false labor. The more stressed you are, the more you hinder your body. Trust me, I KNOW how uncomfortable the last weeks of pregnancy can be, but keep reminding yourself it's temporary and it will end!!

go take a long walk!! try to jog a bit this helps to open your cervix and it could possibly help with the contractions.and make sure your eatting lightly nothing harsh of too filling when you go into labor u dont want to throw something foul up trust me most women do throw up and its nasty!!

I had this exact thing...lasted for 4 days. Finally I was in bad enough pain (unable to move, crying) and the contractions were coming every 5 minutes and then every 3 minutes for an hour. They let me get admitted then. I had to get PItocin and even with that it took a good 23 hours before baby finally came!

I'm with Third! If you're in agony now, I can't imagine how you will tolerate true labor. I hope you have a pain management plan. As much as it hurts, try to enjoy your time at home. Once your in the hospital there's no turning back. You will be stuck there with an IV in your arm and an uncomfortable bed with people poking and prodding you constantly. Try to use this time wisely.

I was told not to go to the hospital until they are 5 minutes apart with my first. THis is because if I were going when they were 10 minutes apart I would of had a long hospital visit. Its better to go through those long times at home then in a hospital on a very unconfertable bed. Good luck

I feel for you!!! this happened with my first it is called prolonged early labor. My contractions started 11pm sat night and I didn't get admitted untill Tuesday morning and I couldn't sleep either by the time I had the baby I missed 3 nights sleep, the only thing you can do is try and walk alot, you will get there in the end........and yes it is soooo worth it!!!

Hmm, if you're in agony with one every 10 minutes you won't know whats hit you when they're coming one after the other and lasting for 60-90 seconds! Eeep! Unfortunately, hospital won't admit you until you're having 3 contractions in 10 minutes that are lasting for around 60 seconds each. The best thing you can do it stay on you feet and walk walk walk and let gravity do it's thing.. Good luck - and it's truly not that bad, I'm onto my 3rd, so don't worry ;]
