Does anyone have any tips on losing weight? I have just finished my day job for good (for a while) and will have time to devote to losing weight but I cannot afford to go to gym or expensive diet shakes. Can anyone suggest a good old fashioned cheap method of losing weight. I have had 5 pregnancies and 4 children so I am not looking too bad considering but I am sick of feeling fat (and clothes are too tight) I am over it. I am 132 pounds! Please help

Right before I got prego this time I got sick from being too overweight. I HAD to loose weight and I still am living a healthy lifestyle and working out. Before I found out I was pregger I had lost 5inches and 25 lbs, and I did that in only 4 months. I am 5 1/2 months along and I have gained 4 lbs. You don't sound over weight really (depending on your height, I'm 5'1 inch so for me that would be 15-20 lbs over healthy) But, back to you I did it by using the Wii Fit. I know it sounds crazy, but I still use it for the yoga while pregnant. My diet, I cut down on my sodium intake (makes you bloated) cut out "white food" White bread, noodles, white rice, flour... and switched to high fiber/whole wheat products (and I started useing cornstarch instead of flour, and I cut red meat out almost completely. Chicken, fish, or turkey (turkey bacon, turkey sausage, turkey ground meat.) Try it, I bet it works. It did/is working for me. And once this kid come I'll go back full force. Good Luck!!

132 is not heavy, unless you are *extremely* short! But if you feel heavy, then just work a bunch of little simple changes into your lifestyle. some ideas: Park farther away from where you're going, and walk. If a building has stairs, take them instead of the elevator. If you're early to an appointment, walk around (up & down stairs is good) instead of sitting while you wait. Limit or avoid breads, pastas, and potatoes. Don't buy ice cream / cookies / candy as you can't eat them if they're not in your house. Use smaller plates or bowls for meals. Wait at least an hour after your first portion before deciding to have seconds. Eat eggs (scrambled with diced peppers, onions, broccoli, tomato) for breakfast, instead of toast or cereal. Buy turkey bacon insead of real bacon; same with other meats - go for turkey or chicken versions. Prepare veggies for salads at the start of teh week, and mix up four or five salads at once, all in single-serving containers, so that it's really easy for you to have a salad every day. Top the salads with boiled eggs so you get some protein and stay full longer. When you eat out, ask for a take-out box when you get your order, and put half your food in the box (and close the lid!) before you start eating. Just look at your life and see where making a little change can increase your food nutrition or your exercise level, and then start doing that every time. It'll add up!

I bought a exercise hoola hoop online and love it! It weighs 3lbs...and you think it sounds easy (at least that's what i thought) but boy oh boy...I could only hoola hoop for one minute at a time for the first week!! I'm up to five minutes at a time now :) I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to loose a few inches around thier waist. and you can do it at any time during the day...the only downfall is that it's diameter is a smig big, so a big area is needed - so nothing gets knocked over LOL - I learned that the hard way! Good luck

132 isn't heavy at all. Depending on your height you're average, or even at the low end of average. The only thing you can do is just diet and exercise. You don't need to spend insane amounts of money or go to a gym for that.
