i was thinking on getting on birth control [I.U.D]. does it hurt when they put it in, tell me your experiences...thanks=]

ginabooboo - 749 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I dont know how these other girls did it but for me it hurt almost as bad as labor. OMG! She had to stop several times because was hurting me so bad. It took about 10 minutes to get and it was terrible. since i have had it i have a period ever 18 days that lasts about 10-11 days. and i am literally gushing blood the whole time. i have cramps constantly, whenever i bend over it stabs me, whenever i have sex it stabs me. i HATE this thing!! My insurance starts in march. i have had this thing for just over a year and I am done with it!!

blondie9504 - 750 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the "Mirena" put in back in September. I will tell you that for me, it didn't hurt one bit putting it in. Actually, I didn't even know she did it. It hurts wayyyy less than a pap smear! My Dr advised me to take ibuprofen (SP?) before I had it put in to keep the swelling down. The next day I had some cramping, nothing that wasn't tolerable or that a little Midol wouldn't help. Don't worry, if you've had a child, nothing can be that painful lol. Good luck! :)

Heather12 - 750 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I got the copper IUD about 1 1/2 years ago. I didn't feel a thing. I love it! Don't even know its there. My best friend though had the Mirena IUD inserted 2 different time and she said it hurt really bad. I think its different for every person.
