Hi i am 31 weeks pregnant and my pubic bones are hurting alot. It has been going on for 2 weeks now. Sometimes i can`t even lift my legs up properly and at night it is so hard to turn on my sides becasue it hurts alot. Do you think it is normal? In my last pregnancy i had these symptoms in my last 2 or 3 weeks of my pregnancy. I want to add that i can`t take off my pants if i am not seated becasue i can`t lift my legs properly. And it seems that my legs feel better if they are open. To keep them close it seems that i have to force them. Tia

brittany l - 398 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had it with my 2nd pregnancy. Pregnant with my 3rd now, and it is slowly starting to happen again.

pamela316 - 398 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sounds like Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (spd) I had it starting at 15 weeks with both my pregnancies. My first was bar far the worst..and gaiend a lot of weight. I couldnt put weight on 1 leg at a time to get dressed, I had to sit. I couldnt roll over in bed wincing in pain...it was brutal. I'm 12 weeks with #3 and already feel sensative.

taniamommyx3 - 398 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It sounds like SPD (as jewell said). I had it bad with my 1st and have had bad says with my 3rd. I had it from week 12 with my first and it hurt so bad I could hardly climb stairs, turn over in bed, it was excruciating! Basically your pelvis bone is made to seperate but with SPD you produce to much hormone called relaxin which causes the bones to spread or relax TOO much! This can cause the bones to rub together or lay aquwardly against each other. Good news is it will go away after the baby is born but if its very bad I suggest seeing a chiropracter. I was in a bad accident at 7months with #1 and was sent to a chiroprater 3 times a week until i delivered. It was a blessing in disguise because the chiro releaved the SPD pain!

agape - 398 days ago Thanks alot. ElizeT i sleep with a pillow between my legs and it helps a bit but still. I think it is better to try it.

xxjewellxx - 398 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had that. My doctor said it was called SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction). It's basically like a misalignment of the pubic symphysis, which is right in the middle where your 2 bones come together. Type it in google and it can give you a better description than I can haha. I just know it hurt.

ElizeT - 398 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi, I don't really have an answer for you. But I have exactly the same problem - and I'm only 26 weeks now. With my 1st pregnancy this also happened later on. My dr told me last time my baby is laying very low - head down. So I think it is the head putting pressure on the pubic bone. My next appointment is now the 28th May, I'm gonna ask why and what can be done. I also almost can't turn at night, and putting on socks and pants is just painfull! Another lady once mentioned to sleep with a pillow between your legs. I haven't tried that yet. Hope that helps!
