Stents?? Added: 358 days ago. Added by: Audri Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Hello! I am 34 weeks pregnant as of now. Last week i had to have 2 stents put into my ureter tubes because my baby boy was blocking off both of my kidneys. The doctors say if they wouldnt have seen that my kidneys had blockages that it couldve possibly killed me and my baby boy. So now i am stuck with these stents until after my baby is born. They are the most painful things i have ever had to deal with in my life. Has anyone ever had to have them put in? If so please share, and tell how you dealt with them ?!

Stay strong. lol.piqz- i have never had kidney stones, but i have heard the horrible stories of them, i feel for you. But, think again before getting stents! BC it definitely will not help with your pain AT ALL. Good luck to all of you. Kristy rose- yesss, i know its so crazy to think that my little boy possibly saved my life, bc who knows my kidneys couldn't had the blockages before pregnancy, and i had no clue.

I have kidney stones in both kidney's and the pain alone of them traveling and then trying to pass is almost unbearable. I was actually hoping and figuring they would give me stents until baby was born. Wow, hearing what you are going through makes me think twice. I feel for you, this is horrible enough on my end and they have me on Tylenol 3 for pain management. FX it gets better for you and you find some way to cope♥♥

I was born was kidney problems but even after a surgeries to help prolong my kidney active life, I did have stents placed 11 years ago just after we found my problem. Trust me mind over matter is the only way I live my life and have such a high torrance for pain. It does get worse over time and kidney stones plus stents are a living hell, but that's my daily life as of 14 years ago. The best thing for pain is a heating pad or hot bean sack.

The doctors told me i could have them removed after i give birth. I am still hoping that is the case, because there is no possible way i could go on like this afterwards. My OBGYN doctor gave me oxycodone to take for my pain, along with Tylenol, but i try my best not to take anything if i do not have to. I feel for anyone else that has had to have stents of any kind, bc these are awful. It's hard for me to sit, sleep, and walk comfortable. Lord please help me to cope with this pain until our bundle of joy has arrived!!

SOunds like you are lucky to be alive! so as you deal with the pain, remember that it is saving your life! Are you able to have them removed once the baby is born? In the meantime, you can take tylenol and use heating pads to help with the pain. I would avoid anything stronger for your baby's sake unless you absolutely cannot function because of the pain. Then you should talk to your doctor about stronger prescription pain medication.
