I was wondering if it`s pooible to locate your own cervix for dialation? Is there anyone who has tried it and how did it work out for you?

softkitty - 323 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) SBL I agree with Cari, the only thing you will gain is giving yourself an infection.

cari226 - 323 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sweetbabylove, I mean this very respectfully. Please just be patient and wait for your baby to come when he/she is ready. In the mean time, try safe measures to kick start labor like sex or orgasm. Do not fish around by your cervix if you do not know what you are doing, you might give yourself an infection. .

RYNZE - 323 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) 38 weeks wow your baby will be here very soon just be patient

Sweetbabylove - 323 days ago I am 38 weeks, I heard people talking about checking their own cervix so I thought I would see by this site. No this is my 3rd but I can't remember what I went through with my first, it was 4 years ago and my 2nd was induced.

RYNZE - 323 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sweetbabylove-when are you due i see you keep posting things about going into labor. is this your first baby? but i will tell you no matter what you do to try to get that baby to come or see if he/she is coming the baby WILL NOT COME UNLESS HE/SHE IS READY. just relax im sure you dont have far to go. this is something completely out of your hands just let things take its course.

Katmoma - 324 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ive alwasy checked my cervix. just somthing that came with ttc for so long...if your nails are short and hygeine is thoura i mean top cleanliness then its your body your risk and choice to take..when it comes to dilation for labour i was at 36 weeks already 6cm and didint go into labour till 40 weeks so technicaly i shoulda been in labour my body wasnt ready to.. so this is really a personal choice if you want to check your cervix..

1st-time-Toya - 324 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) this is a good question! i wish i had the guts to check myself cuz i really want to know how dilated I am but i know i dont know what the heck im doing so im not even gonna chance messing with anything in there LOL

ShaunaMarie - 324 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) ANYONE checking for dilation can cause an infection. Most drs don't like to check women often even in labor because they are introducing bacteria. As a mommy who had to keep her healthy full term baby in the nicu on ivs for a possible infection (that she didn't have), I would most certainly say it's not eorth the risk. While dilation is a sign of labor, you can dilate weeks before going into labor. The green may have been a piece of mucus plug, but ve warned if will grow back if you aren't in labor, and you can lose pieces without being in labor.

Sweetbabylove - 324 days ago Okay, thanks so much for your input. Definetly take that into consideration

rubes - 324 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I just remembered. My friends plug was green goo. 1 cm is if you felt a hole big enough to take the tip of your finger. (I think). I'm going purely by memory here. I wouldn't play around with it, if I were you, though. You tried, give it a week now. Better to be safe then sorry!!!

Sweetbabylove - 324 days ago Okay, I had some come out last weekend too but it wasn't a lot, and I did let them know about it and they didn't seem to concerned about it. So maybe it is a mucus plug, but if I got in there a little bit to knock it out would that mean I was 1cm?

rubes - 324 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) God knows. Green is usually the colour of infection, isn't it??? I'm not a dr, though. Possibly your plug, but mine was brown with my daughter and yellowish goo with my son.

Sweetbabylove - 324 days ago ok so I just checked and had found it, When i pulled my finger out there was green mucus, what does that mean?

rubes - 324 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I tried it with my 2nd. No amount of instructions will help you. LOL. MY advice, get in a bath, relax, then try it while on your knees. My friend said she had to lift her legs up, but I found it whilst on my knees. I can't remember what it felt like, but remember the feeling sounding like the way it's discribed online. I didn't try it til I was 39 weeks, a few days off my due date, and found that I was about a cm dilated. At my induction at 40+5, I was 3 cm but I figured I was about 2 or 3 cm from my self examination the day before, and the midwife stretched me to a 4.
