Not quite sure if we should ttc or not Added: 311 days ago. Added by: beegee Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
So here is the lay down. I had my DD Aug `11. I am EBFing, so I just got my period June 30th. If we wanted to, and we do, we can TTC around the middle of this month. Here is the delima. I am flying from NY to San Diego middle of September for my sisters wedding. Will it be safe for me to fly if I am pregnat? I`ve read mixed reviews with the miscarriage rate. Also at 16wks I will be needing to get the Cerclage due to having IC. Any input would be great, thanks! BTW- I`m 32, my SO is 41. We want to hurry up and have at least one more, since we aren`t getting any younger. And who is to say even if we ttc if we will get pregnant sooner than later.

Thanks Ladies. I think I'm also terrified of being pregnant again. After having a loss with my first pregnancy, my second one was a terrible roller coaster ride

I just took an airplane 2 days ago at 31 weeks and I alao flew twice at 9 and 11 weeks. Its fine. If your concerned about radiation from the body scanners (which they will not do to a pregnant lady!) you might as well stay home cause you are exposed to far more radiation from the sun.

I would start TTC right away if you want to. You don't know if it will take a while or not like you mentioned, and who's to say that a plane will cause a miscarraige. I would go ahead if it were me

If it was me, I'd wait until after you have to fly. I wouldn't like the idea of the radiation from the scanners (even the regular ones have radiation, not just the ones that can see through clothes). And I know it's a weird thought, but it's occurred to me: what if the poor baby's ears hurt from the altitude pressure? You'd never know or be able to do anything to help him/her. These are my paranoid thoughts on the subject, hehe. I'd just wait- your ages are not something to be worried about. My hubby was 44 when our daughter was born. Good luck with your decision! :)

If you both think about it together. If you are both ready for another as a family, regardless of all those ifs and maybes. Then i say go for it. Anything can happen anytime and like you said who is to say you will concieve straight away.
