tto - 314 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It's decided at conception but the genitals are obvious as early as 14 weeks. Even then it might be hard to tell. I found out with my 1st at 14 wks.

allynne7 (Jaime) - 314 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The moment the sperm meets the egg. If sperm carries an X chromosome it's going to be a girl and if the sperm carries a Y chromosome the baby will be a boy. You can seperate the sperm between male & female to get the gender you want but that kind of takes the whole romance out of making a baby!!!

bcalove82 - 315 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) They are not genetically the same but are physically the same so you cannot tell by looking until later. Genetically they are male or female from conception. Male gets a y sperm from dad, female an x. Mom always cotributed an x. This information is stored in every cell of the fetus from conception forward. If you were to get an amniocentisis very early you would know the gender. But there arecno physical differences in the embroyo until a few weeks have passed. But genes " know" from conception. That part of the development ( genitals, hormones, etc) just does not happen until later ih their development.

peachys72@yahoo.com - 315 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) technically the embryo doesnt start differentiating until 6 or 7 weeks. until that point male and female embryos are genetically the same (however, the sperm is what decides if its a boy or a girl so it would make sense to say that its determined right from conception but if u were to examine a baby prior to 6 or 7 weeks, u would be unable to determine the sex)

babygirl (pink) - 315 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) at conception. As soon as the egg is ferterlized all features are determined including hair and eye color even looks

MommyOf3But4ToBe (*PINK*) - 315 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) yep, what sarah said... that mans sperm determines the sex... so the second that the egg is fertilized, the sex is already a done deal...

Lovelymummy*BLUE* - 315 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi, good question, me and my hubby ttc a girl this time round. It's all down to the male I'm afraid. If you google dr.shettles. He has methods of ttc a certain gender. But this didn't work for me and I followed his technique precisely and even followed a certain diet.

sarahlj-ttc2 - 315 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The sperm decide. The men produce female sperm and male sperm, whichever gets to the egg first decides which gender. HTH
