first pregnacy question... stomach tightening

ok im 31 weeks pregnant and for some reason today my stomach has been tightening up and gets hard not SUPER rock hard but hard. it doesnt stay hard but it happens more then once (like tighten, get hard and stays for a few then releases).... i was just wondering if anyone experienced this and/or know what it is?....

They are mostly harmless and just practice for the real contractions, but u should keep track if they occur in a set amount of time. or for a long period of time. keep your doctor in ur mind to call if you get concerned. Hope all is well :)
