ShaunaMarie - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Interesting answers lol. Hiccups in infants are commonbecause all their tiny systems are immature. Their tiny diaphragms haven't gotten the hang of all this breathing, sucking, and swallowing stuff! It's totally normal. However, I would nurse my lo because *I* wanted to get rid of her hiccups. They will bother you more than him, and eventually, they will taper off.

Debra - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hiccups are also a sign of fatigue. My kids always got it when they were tired. Otherwise, they are harmless and not at all annoying when they are little. They do not know another way. Most babies start experiencing them when they are in utero and so they are a normal experience.

jamie86 - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would give mine a little bit of water like the other ladies said. Just enough for them to get a drink or 2 and they would be gone.

goingfornumber3 - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my ds had a hard time burping all his gas out and would hiccup. i used gripe water mixed with his formula and it helped him burp more completely. but before you try that i would also recommend a little water. but hiccuping is definitely normal as long as there is no discomfort.

kamy107 - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) they hiccup all the time in utero (from swallowing amniotic fluid), so it's not uncommon for them to continue after birth. if it lasts a long time and he seems uncomfortable, i've done the water thing too. make sure you boil the water and then cool it before giving it to them, as the chemicals in the water will evaporate.

ttcbabenum2 - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My sister always put water in a bottle and had her son drink it. I've never tried it but she said it worked!

aseabeeswife529 - 298 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hicups are a sign that there diaper is wet. They will hicup a lil after.
