Hello ladies! I was due Sept 21 but my lil man came July 27 @ 6pm and is 3 lbs 11 oz! The umbilical cord was wrapped round his neck 3 times and he was having trouble breathing but is doing much better! But my question is I was pumping and the milk that was coming out my right breast had a pinkish tint to it and the left looked normal just fine is something wrong with my right breast is that pinkish tint blood or something what`s going on?

You can put lanolin, coconut oil or even your own breastmilk on your nipples to help them heal and feel better. Way to go for giving your preemie the best stuff for him! Check out the page "Breastmilk for Preemies" on facebook. They have amazing help, advice and encouragement!

skydivedoc - 299 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Great advice from ShaunaMarie: skin to skin. I wanted to congratulate you on doing everything you can to breastfeed your premie. Keep it up- it's worth it!! Sending much love...

ShaunaMarie - 299 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If you are pumping, check the fit of the flanges. It might have been something you ate, but it sounds like blood from chapped nipples. See a lactation consultant. There should be one at the hospital. She can help you with pumping. You will need help with the latch once your lo can breastfeed. Spend as much time skin to skin as possible. Look up or ask your nicu nurses about kangaroo care. Congrats, mamma! Best wishes, and awesome job working so hard to give your bundle the very best start!
