Due Date changed by 18 days! Hopeful still????

I went in for an u/s this morning. My original due date, according to last period, was October 13th. I started to worry when the u/s tech asked if I was sure on my date. Baby measured right at 6 weeks. Heartbeat was 84, which doc said should be up over 100 next week. I return next Friday for another u/s. I should either hear good news or bad news then. Doc said I could have ovulated late, which she said is very common in older women. I forgot to mention to her that I am also breastfeeding, which maybe that could be a factor in ovulation changes. What do you gals think? I am obviously shaken and upset, wondering if this is the beginning of the end. Although doc did say that if I had come in expecting to be 8.5 weeks and only measured 6 with NO heartbeat, then there would be reason for concern. Anybody have a similar experience? Thanks

rbrencur - 1072 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Def Cain happen. I ovulated a week late so if I go by my lmp I'm due oct 19, but if. Go by my ovulation date I'm oct 27, but my ultrasound measured it at oct 25, so didn't line up with either lol. But I had to redo 6 weeks because of it. I saw a heartbeat even though bean was measuring 5 w, 6d wheni thought I was 6w 5d. All is good though. I'm more relieved after seeing the heartbeat as the chance of miscarriage decreases significantly once you've seen it. Don't worry mama. I'm sure all is fine :)

-Mumbo- - 1073 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It is my understanding that if there's a heartbeat, the chance of losing a baby decreases significantly. The fact taht you weren't getting a period really throws your conception dates in the air. I wouldn't stress about it if I were you. You're pregnant and as of yesterday, your pregnancy is viable. That's all good news. The reason they allow women to go overdue by almost 2 weeks is because of this inconsistency in due dates and conception. I know the date my son was conceived as it was the only time I did it that month, and I know he was almost 2 weeks overdue but the hospital would not induce me on my due date because they said I could've conceived later than I thought. I knew that wasn't true in my situation but it's a general rule of thumb... And yeah, my son was a big baby with flaky skin from being over-cooked!

pinkpuff20 - 1073 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my situation is similar with the dating descrepancy and it's most likely a miscarriage. BUT I never saw a baby or heard a heartbeat, so it sounds promising for you! good luck!

girl from ab (erin) - 1073 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You got to remember there are so many variables from ovulation to cycles to implantation. Even if you think you concieved on on day, you may have done the deed that day but ovulation could have occured 3- 5 days later and implantation occurs anywhere from 6-12 days after that...

jamie - 1073 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can get faint positives as early as 7-8dpo on average around 9. How long are your cycles usually.

suzy1984 - 1073 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Yes I am breast feeding and had No periods so I checked on my ov with strips When we found out I was pregnant I believe from the dates and ovulation date I was 14 weeks but When I went for my scan I was only 12 which does not make sense at all so still a bit worried if baby is growing right

girl from ab (erin) - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) A girl i know ( oh's best friends wife) went in for her 20 week U/S and ended up only being 17 weeks so a 3 week difference so she found out days after conception and thought she was further along so yes possible

kayladockins - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if you are 6 weeks now, and found out a month ago, you would have only been 2 weeks.. which is technically not even pregnant right? that would have been more around the conception date?

dollbunny - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I think you still got hope. you heard the heartbeat which is good and at 6 weeks the heart is just starting to function. Good Luck!

jamie - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) When did you get your bfp?

7thbaby - 1074 days ago Gosh, I just looked at calendar and wonder...would it really show positive one month ago if I am 6 weeks today? I think I need to stop over thinking things. Just gets me more worried.

frenchie23 - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The fact there was a heart beat is great news ;) Ovulation and due dates are so all over the place, according to my lmp and first u/s I was due Sept 6, my son was born on Aug.24th at 8pounds8oz.... He was NOT born early, there's absolutely no way! Lol I think they definitely or measured him wrong or Had my dates wrong, somethin wasn't right cuz there's no way he should have been born on the 6th, I would have had a humongus baby!! Lol

7thbaby - 1074 days ago My positive test at home was February 6th. Doctor's confirmed it on February 7th with "faint" result, but definitely positive. Today the doctor thought it all added up okay.

jamie - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) When did you get your bfp?

MommytobeSL - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I also want to add that with my first pregnancy, I knew that exact date of conception (my husband was only home for 1 day that month), yet at mt first us the dr told me due date was almost 2 weeks after what it should have been. When I told him that I knew my day of conception and it matched up with my LMP, he switched it back. Doctors aren't always right. This time I got a positive pregnancy test what would have been 12 days after he says I must have conceived. This seems a little early to me. I still don't think my due date is correct this time. Like I said, doctors aren't always right. Try not to worry yourself.

tto - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) No similar experience- sorry. But I'm betting it's the ovulation thing. Couldn't the doctor be checking your numbers? At least then in 4 days you'd have some good information to fall back on and calm your nerves.

bexandgirls - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think its a great sign you saw the heart beating. Can you think back to when you first got a positive test or when you started to get symptoms? Am i right in saying you must have conceived 4 weeks ago to now be 6 weeks so you would have only got a positive test about 2 weeks ago?? i hope im working that out right with my preggo brain!

agape - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Mine were both with a 15 days difference. But I never panicked about it. Becasue my cycles are of about 40 days so i always ovulate late. Do not worry much cos with worring you will not gain anything. Just relax and i hope you will have a sticky baby bean hun.

MommytobeSL - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Mine was not quite that extreme, but it was 8 days difference. According to my LMP I should be due July 5, but my first us showed that I was due July 13. Doctor said I must have ovulated late. Good luck!

kitty79 - 1074 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I didn't but did have friends who did and it was just late ovulation and they have healthy baby. Try to not stress and think positively... There was a heartbeat so it sound positive... Hugs
