I have a pain that runs from my leaft butt cheek through my hip and down my leg. I first noticed it before pregnancy if I was sitting for a long period of time. It is not really painful, just really irritating. It almost feels like a cramp or burning sensation.
Treatment or advice:
I apply a heating pack to the area and it seems to bring temporary relief.

Hi Emma.I am 20wks preg and have had the same problem since I was 12wks. I have realized that if I sit on a very low chair/sofa,the pain is very obvious. If I sit on a high stool/chair with my feet resting on the ground, the pain is non-existant. Try to get up very slowly. Hope it helps!!!
My sciatic is killing me...it starts at my spine and runs down my leg...it settles in my bottom/hip and pinches right in the hollow of my rear. My whole leg goes numb.
Treatment or advice:
warm baths and massage.

I had the siatic nerve problem with my first pregnancy...it almost started right away. It would bother me most after working hard around the house and then sitting down...I would try and get up and I could barely walk. I would have to slowly walk around until I warmed up so to speak. It really affected me one night (2am) when I went to the restroom...my husband had to lift me off of the toilet...embarresed and painful! This is my 2nd pregnancy and it is back! I cleaned some today and layed down...I could barely get off of the bed because it hurt when I tried to stand...The pain just shoots from my back to my leg and I just want to fall it hurts so bad...FUN STUFF...My baby is worth the paine!

I was having problems with this area and I am a Massage Therapist at a Chiropractor's office, I set up weekly appointments with the Doc and have found that about 75% of my pain especially late at night have decreased greatly. I still have aches and pains, but if you are open to seeking alternative therapy, I suggest you look into it. The cost is not as much as you would think and your insurance will probably sport most of the bill. I have set up appointments through my entire pregnancy and will begin my baby on therapy(both massage and adjustments) as soon as he is born. There are hardly any contraindications for the work and as long as you let the Doc know you are pregnant, I assure you they will not do anything to harm you or your baby.
I have been getting a random shooting pain down my left side, feels like a dagger or something pushed downwards to the top of my leg.
Treatment or advice:
Hot water bottle or compress held on the area in the evening eases it a bit.

I have had this pain with all 3 of my pregnancies. It is caused by your sciatic nerve. I am going to start physical therapy, and hopefully that helps!
It is a twitching that will then feel like you just developed a rope burn and it is a mild but discomforting thing to experience in your sleep.

I am 30 weeks. When I was about 26 weeks and while I was sleeping at night, I started getting a charlie horse type pain in butt cheeks. If I slept on my right side, my right butt cheek would get a charlie horse. Then when I shifted to my left side, my left butt cheek would get the same. My OBGYN said it was not sciatic pain since I had no pain shooting into my leg. She said that my mattress is probably too hard and it is an arthritic type pain. I don't think our mattress is firm, but I don't know why I would get that pain either. I didn't have this with my first pregnancy.
there is pain on the side of my butt since i am sleeping on my left side and if i sleep on the same `side for more than3 hrs the pain becomes worse`and gets ok only if i sleep on the other side
