Discomfort: breasts

Discomfort:My nipples ache some, but mostly the tissue under them feels very swollen and achy. Onl a problem during sex and when showering.

Discomfort:Have had a dull pain for awhile, thought it was baby. Recently, some of the pain was extremely sharp where I couldn't move or breathe. Ended up in the hospital for four days.
Treatment or advice:Pain medications were given until it was found that the problem is the gall bladder. I will be having the gall bladder removed and am on a medication to take only if necessary. They want to get the baby to at least 35 weeks (next week) if the pain does not go away.

I have had more of an annoying, not unbearable pain right under my right breast, more so feeling like it could be near the top of my ribs. I am worried that it could be a gall bladder. Any other symptoms that could maybe point to if it is a gallbladder or just the baby kicking me in that area? I am 26 weeks. Thanks for your help!

I had this same issue... after an US they said the samething. That it is my Gallbladder... Dr told me to stop eating greasy foods and Ice Cream :( and if it continues to be a problem that I can have it removed. But I am going to wait until after baby is born.

Discomfort:For the past couple of weeks I have had the most awful pain in the right side of my ribs it is piercing and stabbing - but it goes all the way through my back hurts in the exact same spot. I had thought I pulled a muscle- well I didn't It won't go away!
Treatment or advice:My dr said that it was ok to use icy hot and a heating pad at a low heat for limited amounts of time. It helps for a few minutes but not enough. My hubby rubs it it only feels good while he's rubbing it. Someone help! lol

I just started having the same problem. I woke up fine but within a matter of 10 minutes I was hunched over in pain. Back rub was not helping. Baby has been kicking me in the right side for as long as I can remember. I ended up taking a bath and the pain somewhat subsided. It was in the right side near my ribs, around to my left side and went down to my hip on the right. Any clue to what this may have been? I was extremely tired and the baby was kicking the entire time I had the pain. Also had frequent urination. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. BTW I am 32 weeks.

i have the same pain but it feels like the baby is laying on a nerve on my right side and it wra[s around to my back and the only thing that helps is when i lay on my left side or use a heating pad on my back

I have the same pain. Right side ribs and middle of my back. We must be running out of room. The only thing that helps me is laying flat on my back. Glad to know Im not alone.

I'm almost 37 wks, and for the past couple of days now I have been having a cramping feeling in my upper right rib area. Not sure why but he has been kicking around a lot lately. Possibly bruised??

Me too -- my pain is under the right side of my rib cage and can go all the way to the back of my rib cage. unfortunatley, I have no good advice. I find that laying on my left side and removing my bra helps a bit...

sounds like the the pain I have been having but mine is on the right!!! I know this is my 3rd child but I am not as far along as you are so I am wondering if they actually are similar! but your comment has helped me realize I am not the only one going through this!

Discomfort:I have a dull constant pain in my right rib cage and it goes around to the back of my rib cage. It's very uncomfortable and it never goes away!
Treatment or advice:I lift my right arm over my head to kind of stretch out my right side. This seems to help until my arm starts to get tired or tingly.

Wow! Same exact thing is happening to me. Much worse when I sit - which I do a lot for work. Now, at 32 weeks, even lying down doesn't help until it's been a few hours! As with you, stretching my right arm up helps for awhile until my arm goes to sleep. When I'm lying down, putting a warm heating pad over my ribs on that area helps too, but I can't do that all day every day...

Discomfort:I started to get this sharp pain in both my ribs. One day it would be on my left side the other day my right. Sometimes it would hurt for 5 min. Sometimes it would last for about 15. I dont know if it could be from my baby or if there could be something wrong. has any1 else felt this before? How long til the baby really gets up in the ribs?

I am in week 24.5, and have been experiencing this numbness under my left breat, exactly where the image shows. Am relieved now, as I was worried before. Its been there for a week, and started off as muscele 'twiches', which I though was the baby poking me. Now its relatively numb to the touch.

Yeah I am only 8-9 weeks with bub no.2 and I am getting a lot of discomfort already in my ribs. I had excruciating rib pain in labour with my first and the last few weeks were terrible before she was born. I am pretty small and my husband is huge so the dynamics aren't in my favour! The only things that have been helping me this time is pregnancy yoga and stretching my back muscles before I go to bed. As you get further along, some yoga poses can help move the baby into a better position. Of course make sure you talk to a professional yoga instructor on guidance for positions. Couple this exercise with swimming and I promise you will be in pregnancy heaven! Seeing a chiropractor is a God Send too!

Discomfort:It feel like a stabbing pain right under my boob. Whatever I do makes it worse. Cold things make it worse. Standing crouching, nothing helps but pain killers. An half the time that doesn't work. It's not something you can deal with. It hurts way to bad.

my advice for the last poster with the pain under right breast, make sure you call your Dr. or nurse and just let them know if you have not already, esp since pain pills do not help because this CAN be a symptom of a specific pregnancy related problem

Also, your bras may be getting to tight as you move along in your pregnancy. If possible try to wear a bra without an underwire in it for a couple days and see if the 'bruising' feeling under your breasts goes away.

Hey there, I have also had severe pain in my breasts. Pre-pregnancy I was very small- barely a B cup and now about 11 weeks into my pregnancy I am almost a C cup. The only thing that I found like will relieve the pain is to wear a sports bra that is supportive but not tight. I wear them all the time now, espiecally at night.

Discomfort:from time to time i get a horrible, breathtaking pain under my rib where the ribs end. It feels like a burning pain, or a cutting pain. I notice it alot when I am getting in or out of the car. It truly feels like someone has a lit match on the inside of me or like someone is cutting me from the inside. Also, the skin is very sore to touch in this area. Almost feels burnt. My only comfort is knowing that I am delivering in 5 days.
