Discomfort: left side stomach

Discomfort:I have a sharp pain on the left side of my stomach near the center, that is so intense all I can do is lay down and wait for it to end. It last about two minutes and I have had them throught out the day. Does anyone know what this is?

HEY GIRL. I WANTED TO COMMENT ON YOUR DOSCONFRONT B/C I'M 13 WKS AND I'VE HAD THAT SAME PAIN ON MY LEFT ABDOMINAL. 1ST TIME I GOT IT IT LASTED 3 DAYS AND WENT AWAY. THEN CAME BACK FOR 2 DAYS THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I WENT TO THE E.R THE 1ST TIME AND THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE ONLY THING THEY MENTIONED WAS THAT IT BE FROM THE FIBRIODS I'VE GOT. SO CHECK ON THAT...TAKE CARE

I am having to the same sharp pains in my left side of my stomach and I don't know what it is. I am 22 weeks. I can feel my baby move and I also have bowel movements but It is really scary bc it hurts really bad during that time.

Discomfort:I have had this pain with all three of my pregnancies now. It is an intense pain that only intensifies as the day goes along. By the mid to end of the day it hurts to move and and even breath.
Treatment or advice:The only thing that makes the pain better during pregnancy is to go to bed and stop moving, but when I wake up and start my day again, the pain starts all over. I've mentioned it to my OB, he says it might be a fibroid. After the baby is born though, the pain is gone...only 26 more days until my due date and it can't come a minute too soon.

I have been having what sounds like similar pain and that's how I came across this site. I think you may have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Not all the symptoms of IBS are as severe as constipation or diarrhea. I would ask your doctor to look again at all your symptoms. Keeping a diary for a month detailing food and your bowel movements. You may be surprised at what this will identify. Diet is a great way to keep some control of IBS from what I have read and do not be duped into buying any medication. I found some on the internet. Its not a miracle cure. A healthy diet and regular exercise should help.

I started having similar discomfort (to the left and above my navel) around 26 weeks. It disappeared at about 28 weeks, and reappeared - more strongly - at about 30 weeks. The past few days it's been very annoying. Lying done or giving some support to my belly seems to alleviate some of the discomfort, but it's still annoying. It's gone in the morning when I get up, but by the end of the day...all I want to do is lie down and relax.

This is my third pregnany also, and I have the exact same pain above my belly button. My dr. also said muscles streching, but I am so fed up with the pain, especially chasing after two kids.

Discomfort:I am 29 weeks and my stomach feels so tight a lot of the time. I don't know if its gas or what. It seems tighter some days than other and especally after I eat. could it be constipation?

it's probably. i'm 25 weeks and gas is killing me. when i eat my stomach get tight like it about to explode and i can't stand up straight. i've been takin gtums and hot coke (soda).

Discomfort:Have huge stretch marks scars from a previous pregnancy and have noticed that the farther along I get ( bigger I get ) the area around the stretch marks has become very tender. extremely sore to the touch and the stretch marks are spreading and turning a very bright red.

I had a lot of problems with morning sickness, I found that if I ate a small breakfast when I got up, had a toastie at 10.30, lunch at 12 ish and another snack at 3.30 it helped sometimes. I also spoke to my dr and they gave me a Pramin to take when I couldnt get it under control. Hope that helps

I had a similar sort of pain with both of my pregnancies and am having it now, which makes me wonder if I may be pregnant again (too early to do test). I had it starting at about 12 weeks with baby 2 and at about 20 weeks with baby 1. It was a stretching, burning pain that got worse as the day went on. It made me crazy. I wore one of those maternity belts for a while, which helped the pain, but it also made me crazy. I think it was a muscle thing - I am small (110 pounds and 5'5' when not pregnant), and I had relatively big babies. I occasionally applied light heat to the site, being careful not to overheat myself and the babies. That was a great relief, but only helped when I was doing it. The good news is that once the babies were out of me, the pain was instantly gone (until now...uh oh!).

Discomfort:Not sure if this is related to gas pains or growing pains or whatever, but terrible `stretching` pain in my stomach, like it's being stretched from the inside out. Unbelievable, considering the back pain, breast pain and sinus pain I've already got going on.

I'm not sure if I'm pregnant or not but for the past two days I would eat and feel nauseated right after. I cant even eat a muffin with out feeling like I need to throw up. I took two pg test and both negative but i think its too early. I need help figuring out why I'm getting sick.Help please!!!

Discomfort:its a bump that actually sticks out, 2 inches above my belly button.it hurts when you push on it, and its pretty squishy.Doctor said it could either be a fatty cyst or a hernia(where my intestines are sticking through YUCK).
Treatment or advice:Unless it causes serious pain noone will do ANYTHING about it. its inbetween my uterus and my skin. nice. i put a warm washcloth on it to make it stop hurting sometimes. i just try not to touch it very much. either way its not fun. they will check it out AFTER the baby is out though.

Discomfort:a constant burning sensation in a vertical line from my belly button...almost 4-5 inches long...i've heard its from the muscles separating and it's worse when i've been up for awhile...only goes away when i lie down.

Discomfort:i just went into the hospital for blood in my urine they thought a kidney stone or infection the kept me and ran fluids trying to fluch out a stone it never came but the blood dissapeared but now i have this constant almost nausiating pain throughout my entire stomch and im worried about the baby i have ate tums tried milk but i cant get it to go away i have had no morning sickness so i dont think its related to that do you think it could be from all the antibiotics they put into me?

Beyuteful - Thursday 13 May 2010
I am in my 28th wk and have started noticing a sharp pain in my upper stomach area, maybe the top if my uterus? Or feels like it could be lower part of my lungs and rib cage. It got so bad tonight and I tensed up to where I bagan to cry abit. I couldn't help it. Each breath I took made it hurt worse.Had to takeshort shallow breaths to ease to pain, felt like I could hardly move. Anyone know what this is?

Discomfort:I dont know how far along i am yet as my appointment isnt for another 4 days yet, but i cant be anymore than 8-9 weeks and even then that's pushing it but Im having quite strong and uncomfortable contractions but surely im far too early on in my pregnancy for them to feel this way!? It's scaring me and I don't think I can wait another 4 days to see someone, I have 2 other kids and had strong `braxton hicks most the way thru my other two even to the point where I was 4 cm dilated but sent home being told it was only BH I did protest that fake contractions could not dilate my cervix but it fell on deaf ears both my babies were two weeks late and had to be induced due to my super strong A/sac which the nurse inducing me described as trying to pierce a thick leather belt with a fork! Both my babies became distressed and had maconium in their waters which I have an awful feeling were due to such powerful contractions non stop for so long. With my second i was also given a steroid injection at 27 weeks to mature his lungs as my monitored, steady and notably strong contractions fooled us all into thinking he was about to make an early appearance but thanks to my super hero strength sac he stayed and stayed and stayed until he overstayed his welcome : ) is there any particular reason my early and late uterine contractions are so strong and could anyone else who's shared or sharing a similar story please, please get back to me it feels so strong right now that it's making me feel sick and ive never had morning/pregnancy sickness yet. You'd think because I'm quite early I wouldn't feel the contractions so high up either? It's all very weird but I'm definetely not far on as I've only just got positive test results this past few days and they are faint my others before that were negative, my bbs have gone up a whole cup size, I'm lactating my tummy is hard and swollen and like I said I have these god awful contractions- sorry I'm rambling on.. thank you for hearing me out! Any suggestions welcome! x
