im 32 weeks, and ive been having this pain for a month now... hurt to make sudden movements at night or to get up too fast. :( im exhausted...

I have these same pains, especially when getting out of bed in the morning or if I have been walking or on my feet for a long time. Feels like I pulled a muscle in my abdomen...or ALL the muscles in my abdomen!! Sometimes dull pain, sometimes unbearable sharp pains. My doctor also said it is ligament pain, she said my ligaments may be stretched out from my first pregnancy and not as strong now (I never had this with my first). She suggested a maternity support belt (about $15 at maternity stores) to wear during the day when I'm on my feet. It supports the abdomen and lower back - it really helps a lot! The only thing is it gets hot and I get all sweaty and sticky under it but it is SO worth it - it has made a BIG difference. I would recommend anyone at least giving it a try. Also

Finally glad to see someone else is actually having the pain ive been describing. Its like I did 300 sit ups! I also went to the hospital. I can barely walk...theyre sore all the time with spurts of cramping on my left side. HAven't tried any tylenol or heat yet...but I gotta try somethin. Its been 5 days :( I hope the 'stretching' isnt till the end!!!!

I have really bad pains in my side there too. I even went to the hospital for them. They said it was just extreme ligament pains. They cant do anything for it but ice it, heat it, take tylenol, massage it or have a soak in the bath tub. Maybe that will help someone with less intense pains than me?

i get the same thing its like when i go to get up its like a sharp pain and it hurts or sometimes ill just be laying down and its like someone is stabing me and cramps at the same time?

i keep pulling my muscles in my lower tummy and this has been happening from the time i got pregnant even before the tests. its not cramps and its not braxton contractions either.. it feels like when you pull a leg muscle.

I know exactly what you are feeling, I get it a few times every day and its the most pain I think ive ever had even more than labour. I have been finding it a bit of help if i put my fingers across the pain and apply a little pressure to let me breathe a bit better.

Hi, I am 13 weeks 5 days. this is my 3rd baby as well and I am having the same pain. I talked to my midwife and she said it is growing pains. Sometimes the pains are so bad I can't stand up straight. My baby's heart rate is in the 160's as well.

I have had the same condition. From around 12 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy I had a pain in my pelvic area so severe I put off telling people I was pregnant as I feared I would miscarry. I walked with my legs together for the next 6 months and could only take baby steps due to the pain. As walking or lying down was painful I liked to sit a lot. My doctor told me it was normal but I didnt experience anything like this the first time around. Later in my pregnancy it got so bad that I would walk with a limp. I went on to have a healthy baby but when the pain didn't go away a year later, I started seeing a chiropractor. I was advised that I had been(and still was) suffering from an inflammed pelvic bone. the condition is called Osteitis Pubis and is generally found in football players. Something keeps inflamming the area and pelvic floor exercises and putting an ice pack on the pelvic bone (under your stomach, not between your legs) does help. Hope this helps someone because I wish I had known (and managed) the condition during my pregnancy....

I am 14 weeks along now and have had ligaments pulling and pelvic pressure, i fee like I need to sit down with my feet up so the baby won't fall out! I find that if I eat light weight high calorie foods it helps because it takes weight off my uterus.

I have been having this problem also for about the last 5 weeks or so. My Doc. tells me its normal also, that its your hips becoming dilocated getting ready for the baby to come out. All I know is that it hurts like crazy!! My tail bone pops all night when I change positions, or get out of the bed. Its loud and painful!! Doing normal things seem to set it off also, like sweeping or vac. I feel all of yours pain..

sounds like you should ask your doctor about symphis disfuntion. I have it through three pregnancies, and its possible to get a support belt/treatment. This can get very painful and its really important to try and get help soon as otherwise it will get worse.

I was just reading about the pain some of us are having in the pelvic area. I think I have it as worse as it can get, my pelvic bone pops! It has been doing that since I was 8wks pregnant. Sometimes it gets sooooo bad that I can't walk. When I was pregnant with my youngest son in 2005 I had to crawl up the stairs in my house because of the pain. The doctor told me that I needed to stay on the lower level of my house and stop sleeping up stairs. But now, it's the same old thing PAIN!!!

Yes, to all... especially on left hand side. I have bought a body pillow and lie up against that with one leg up on it. It is somewhat comforting. I have also been told it is the major ligament stretching but it's scary and I worry that it's the placenta coming away or something, although I'm getting used to it. I find some comfort reading that you have all experienced the same thing and are far more progressed in the pregnancy than I am. I just read a similar comment about the same kind of pain as well, so we're definitely not alone!

iam am 38 weeks pregnant and i have been experiencing this the whole pregnancy too. every time i ask a doctor, he/she says it's normal, but can't tell me why. yes, also mine is worse when i am getting up &/or out of bed. it actualy feels like my pelvis is broken.

I am in week 11 and I am having the left side pain as well. It flares up really bad at night when my bladder is full. Sometimes it can be so sharp it can put into tears and then most of the time there's just alot of pressure and aching. I got so worried at 8 weeks that I actually went into the doctor and he sd it was just ligament pain...it only lasted that day but this time around at 11 weeks ..it lasted for 5 days..I was almost about to go the doctor again but i refrained...

I've experienced it too. I notice it more when I try to get out of bed. This feels different than the round ligament pain. I've actually described it like an adult...not a baby...has kicked me in that area. I'm 37 weeks w/twins and have been experiencing for about 3-4 weeks.

I THINK THAT I HAVE THIS TOO! IT'S ALSO REALLY BAD IN MY HIPS. MY DOCTOR SAID THAT I PULLED MY GROIN, BUT YOU'D THINK THAT I PULLED MUSCLE WOULD HEAL AND GET BETTER WITH TIME. MINE SEEMS TO FLARE UP THE MORE ACTIVITY THAT I DO AND IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE GOING AWAY!

I am going through this too, I am not sure wha tto do about it, but it is good to know that We are not alone in this pain, especially inthe left side, I work in food service and am moving around for 8 1/2 hours daily and was worried that it was caused by all the moving.

I had some pretty bad pains in the same place for about 2-3 days and so i called the late night nurse, & she told me to go to the ER right then. so i did and i got a full cathidar (4 the u/s), an ultrasound, blood test, and had to pee in a cup. turns out i had a pretty decent Urinary Tract Infection. so if it doesn't get better i'd recommend going to the dr.'s cause you never know what it could be. hope this helps & good luck =) Ashley

I had a sharp pain on my left side of my abodomen for 2 days and now its gone. i dont know what it is or could be. I never had that pain when i got pregnant with my daughter. I am trying for another baby but its not working. I havent taken a prego test yet cause i am not trying to think about it. If i dont think about it Im hoping it will happen. what should i do?

i also kept getting sharp shooting pains on the left side of my abdomen, sometimes the pain was more worse than other's, when it got really bad i collapsed to the floor and screaming in pain, it even happened when i was out on the street, i went up to the hospital and my gp loads of time, and all they said was it's was my ligaments and try not to worry about it,and give me pill's but they never worked, eventually since then then i've had to give up my job as i couldn't handle the pain.my GP said it should stop around 20weeks into the pregnancy.

sounds just like round ligament pain! OB says take Tylenol if it's particularly bad, or use a heating pad. Hope you feel better :)

I have a number of small little red bumps on the low part of my stomach right along where the top of my underwear and my pants lie. Maybe something with the hair follicles? I don't know. Anyone else have this?

I had strange pulling sensation from wk4 and am now in wk 8. Also got stabbing pains on same side (left by ovary). Have had 2 scans. Baby ok and heartbeat seen. Was told don't panic it just could be normal for you. Hope this relief some of your worries.

I am having similar pains. It is like a cramp or a pull. I stood up at work today, and it took my breath away. I do not know if I should go to the doctor. I have an appointment next Friday.
