I am almost 36 weeks and I have been experiencing the exact same thing. My vulva itches and feels swollen. It hurts to walk and get in and out of the car. I went to the ER and the doc could not find anything wrong with me. He did not see any swelling or irritation. I don't know what to do about this discomfort. I'm having the same problem. It does get very annoying at times.I notice that it's when i'm flat on my back though so i try to lay on my side anymore or when that pain happens i lift my legs up and it tends to releive the pressure.I had two kids already and i dont remember that pressure only when the baby was in the head down position getting ready to be born. Some say it's just where the baby likes to hang out but i think i'll just ask at my next appointment.I am also 19 weeks and im hoping that the pressure will go away as the baby moves up.Well good luck

hi it sounds a bit like a problem i have called symphosis pubis disfunction basically your pelvis has a small split, thats natural for everyone. However in some cases of women who have your symptoms they have 'spd' it is when the split starts to seperate causeing your symptoms. It can start in any pregnancy but once you get it you get it in every pregnancy and it starts earlier in each one. The pressure of the baby causes the pain ( i am finding getting in my car and up the stairs hard now I am 20 weeks into my fourth preganacy and have had it in each of them). This must been seen by your midwife, as you need to see a physio therapist who will show you som excercises and give you a support to wear under your clothes to relieve the pressure.Your midwife will refer you. However this will go away the minute your baby is born.It sounds all bad but its ok really and the advise off the physio really helps so does sitting on a bid birthing ball. Let me know if you need more advise, it may not be this so speck to your midwife or doctor.

They're probably skin tags. Lots of women get them during pregnancy. Most times they go away. I'd definitely mention them at your next appointment! I got them under my arms during my last pregnancy and all of them went away except one!

AB - Sunday, Sep 2nd
I recently found some brown bumps on both sides of my vulva. They look like moles, but they weren't there before. They don't itch or anything. In fact I didn't know they were there till I felt them while washing in the shower. I'm really freaked out! Any ideas what this could be?

This pain is most likely the ligaments around the pelvic bone getting softer to prepare this area for childbirth. i have tis pain. it is worse in the morning but it also hurts whenever i need to get low close to the floor. i'm 37 weeks.

im 35weeks and i have been feeling this pain since i was around 33weeks i didnt tell my doc. because i thought it was the way i was sleeping or from me walking too much. The pain mainly comes at night and/or when i am doing alot of walking. but its nice to know that it isnt anything serious and that im not the only one experiencing this pain.

Tracy - Thursday, Jun 21st
I am 23 weeks along with twins and I have been having that pain for quite a while now. It's getting alot worse now. There are times, such as today, where I can hardly walk. Dr. has told me it's normal but it hurts so bad I have a hard time believing this is normal. What can be done to alleviate it?

boricuanenna - Thursday, Jun 7th
this problem is totaly normal. I had it with my first pregnancy and i'm having it with this pregnancy also. My OB told me that with a second pregnancy is more painful. The only difference is with my son I was BIG and 7 months pregnant with this one i'm only 16 weeks and it hurts like crazy.

Martha - Monday, May 21st
I have the same problem, the only thing is that I am 22 weeks pregnant and have had that same discomfort for more than a month and I am not even big now, at first I thought it had to do with a yeast infection because I have had problems with yeast infections while pregnant, but I had three culturals and they all cambe back negative. Does anyone have any input? Please advice

Sometimes it feels as if my baby wants to come out at times it really scares me ,i wonder if this is normal.

omg i have had this pain most of my preg, it hurts so bad to even adjust myself at night. is this pain is anything like contractions, is this trainin for it?

Melanii - Monday, Mar 12th
I have that same pain but it seems like it only happens to me at night when I get relaxed and it is also in my behind on the right side

Jennifer - Tuesday, Jan 30th
30wks, carrying twins. I'm having the same pain. It hurts! Getting out of bed is the worse. I told my Dr. it felt bruised in the worse way. He said it was normal, the bones are stetching. It will go away sometime after birth. Up until my 23wk, the pain would come and go, since, it's constant.

second time around - Saturday, Jan 27th
I am going through the same thing...again. The problem with your dr.'s advise is that it's not practical or even safe for you to take tylenol all day, every day. For me the pain is throughout the entire day, and continues to get worse as my pregnancy progresses. I am thinking about getting one of the belly support belts, mabe that will help.

25weeks along - Tuesday, Jan 23rd
I've also been having pain down there. Like sore muscles. Not all the time, but It comes and goes. Mostly when I get up from my bed. It feels like I got beat down there, but I didn't!!!

Baby On Board - Saturday, Jan 20th
I had the same problem... everyone said growing pains. Until I had Blood in my Urine. Then we realized that I was Passing Kidney Stones! Like jusy being PG wasnt enough... they got to throw in KS??? WTH Im only 24 y/o Im not supposed to have KS's yet... am I?

I'm 15 weeks and have the same pain... this is my second pregnancy with my first I didn't have these until I was at least 6 months along... it's a normal pain caused by your pelvis moving apart to make room for baby. and no matter what you do it will hurt so exercise if you want. I know I went walking last night and today it's hurting a little more than it did yesterday.

Discomfort:I have been having this pain on my left side of my pelvis (where I think the baby is). It's not like a cramp, but more of a pulling. Like when I get up it's uncomfortable or certain times when I am laying. It doesn't really feel the same as the growing pains I've been feeling else where, but my mom keeps telling me it's just my uterus growing. I am just confused and would love to hear if you have any insight.

Treatment or advice:well my treatment, that has helped me some what, is to sleep with a thick pillow between my legs at night to keep the pressure from just sitting there all night, with the weight of my legs and baby sitting on my pelvis and vagina...it seems to help a lil bit but it doesn't do mircles...lol...just helps out a lil...i think the onbly thing treatment is to have the baby...lol

Discomfort:A lot of pressure on my entire pelvic area. The right side of my vagina is more swollen than the left and hurts more. My hips and pelvic bone crack, often. Sometimes, it even feels like the baby may just fall out!! This is said to be caused by numerous pregnancies in a short period of time. (I have 3 children already and the oldest is 4)
Treatment or advice:I'm still searching for one, but my docotor says to buy a maternity support girdle. Also, soaking in the bath time gives temporary relief. Stay off your feet as often as possible!!

I totally feel your pain!! I feel like I have been kicked between the legs!! I am 30 weeks today and I have been feeling the same way. I asked my OB and he said that it is most likely the baby moving into postition. With me the discomfort is on and off and its mostly in the morning when i wake up and when i walk. Sometimes sleeping with a pillow doesnt even work. I just keep on thinking that it'll all be worth it in a few weeks :)

You can give birth. :-) You can also invest in hairdressing services, because your kid has a full head of hair. At a certain point, and especially when you're standing up, if the baby is oriented correctly, his/her head hits the inside of your cervix. If he/she turns while his/her head is in contact with your cervix, you can feel it, but it only feels like what you described if the baby has hair on his/her head. I felt this with the first boy, and he was born with a full head of hair. Didn't feel it at all with boy #2, born bald. I'm feeling it again with boy #3, so I'm gearing up for a visit to the salon in the near future. You could, if you were determined, try to coax the baby into changing positions by lying on your back, lifting your hips off the floor and patting the bottom of your tummy.

At 33 weeks I am now feeling extrememly sensitive and swollen right above the pubic bone that goes on for about 2 inches up from there. The baby is head down, but doc says the head is not that far down. Very painful to turn over in bed at night, hips pop when I get up to pee at night and left hip sometimes gives out in the morning.

Got a sore feeling between my upper thighs and my groin about a week ago. Finding it difficult to get up after sitting, difficult to walk, hard to turn in bed. Gets more tender as the day goes on. Week 31 of pregnancy and the babies head is down so thinking that may be it. Will ask doctor on my next visit. Quite uncomfortable.

I've been getting the same thing as KO, but only sometimes. it's like when i pee i have to make absolute sure that it all comes out because if not it happens without fail. this has probably been going on for about 2 weeks now, since i was in week 8.

This comment is too Rene...i'm too have the problem that you are having...speaking of this problem, i was having it last night after me hubby and i had sex. I take showers everytime were done having sex and it burns like hack when i pee...and also when the water touches it...not just the water but anything in gerenal...i go to sleep and the pain is still there....during the night i'll wake up just FINE!! and in the morning when i go to use the bathroom..there's no buring when i pee???...Many say it's a yeast infection? but just ask your doctor when you go to see her...Personaly i dont think it's a yeast infection. I think it's because the baby's head is already faced down and having sex can make it hurt sometimes??....but i too have to ask my doctor this friday!!...i will come back on here to let you kno what she say's....

Discomfort:Having a sore feeling right above the vigina area, starts where I feel the pubic bone and is sore up until the top of my hairline. I've also noticed swelling in the past two weeks it's gotten worse. I mentioned the soreness when it first started to my dr. and he said ligiment pain but now it's swollen in that area of pain only (about the size of a half dollar). Should I be worried or just wait until my next OBGYN appt in a few weeks.

I have to same problem I don't itch or get bumps, but I do swell up and it burns really bad too. The only thing that I find that helps even a little but hurts when you do it, is to sit in a tube of hot water. I only fill the tub up a little though.

I asked my doctor about it and he said that there are two bones there with cartilage holding them together. The two bones are being pulled apart and the cartilage is what hurts in that area. There is really nothing to help with the pain except for heat and Tylenol. If the two bones separate he said that you could be put on bed rest.

Discomfort:Symphisis Pubic Dysfunction. It feels like the bones in your pelvic floor are grinding together, especially at night. The worst is when you roll over in bed, it took me about 5 minutes each time! It also hurts when you get out of bed to use the bathroom at night or when you get up the morning. Or if you have been standing for a while during the day it hurts.
Treatment or advice:The only thing that has helped me is putting a pillow between my legs and under my stomach at night. My doctor also said I could take tylenol before bed. I read that pelvic tilts and kegals help, but not me!

It ONLY gets worse as u get further along in your pregnancy. I wear a panty shield to protect myself and my clothes. It can range from a clear color to a as Thatch said a milky color. As long as there is no blood or smell to it, its normal. So, dont worry. Its a part of our oh so lovely hormons.. LOL

Discomfort:Today I started feeling vaginal / pelvic pain. It's extremely low, and almost feels like it's inside my left vaginal wall. I feel it when I walk and when I squat or bend and try to stand up. I couldn't even hunch over to change into my pjs without feeling it. My sister says it's pressure from the baby, but I'm still a little worried since it came on strong just today. Also, I'm only 6 months pregnant and I personally think it's just a bit too soon to be feeling pressure from the baby. Besides, it happens every time I walk or bend... I'm sure the baby isn't putting pressure down there every second of the day... It's making me pretty much limp when I walk
