Discomfort:I have been feeling a little different the last two days and then today my finger tips on both hands started itching. I just keep rubbing my fingers together to see if it will stop. It is not painfull just bothersome

Discomfort:Almost 1/2 way through pregnancy I developed severe carpal tunnel in both hands. Had to have sugery in both to save from permanent nerve damage and pain.
Treatment or advice:Had carpal tunnel surgery in both hands at the end of the 2nd trimester

I have also been feeling soreness and stiffness in my hands. When I open and close them the joints really hurt. What do I do? Will it go away after the pregnancy?? I'm worried.

I've had terrible numbness in my fingers on both hands and swelling. Per my doctor and my chiro this is simply due to being pregnant. When you are pregnant you swell up and this puts pressure on the nerves. I basically have a really bad case of carpel tunnel. It makes it super hard to sleep and when it gets really bad I get piercing pains at the base of my fingers where it feels like I've tied a piece of string around it really tight and it's cutting off the circulation. The doc and chiro both said the only real solution is to have the baby. I'm due tomorrow so hopefully that helps!

Discomfort:Have a feeling like circulation is being cut off from my wrist to my fingers, and red and white splotches come on my hands,then my fingers go numb to sensation but I can still feel that I'm touching SOMETHING just can't tell if it's hot/cold, sharp/dull etc....right hand is 10X worse than my left and it makes picking up things difficult. It gets very bad at night to the point where I cannot sleep because it's very painful, by morning time my hands are swollen so badly. The doctors say it's Carpal Tunnel Syndrom...they say I have an extreme case of it....
Treatment or advice:I was perscribed two wrist braces where I can't move my wrist which the doctors say the immobilization takes down the swelling of the carpals and the inflamation in the wrist...which is what carpal tunnel is. However, even those have ceased to work...I'm out of options....I'm almost done w/ the pregnancy and they said that if it doesn't get better after the baby is born, surgery is my only other option :-(

I had carpal tunnel syndrone in my right hand before pregnancy, it has increased with the numbness, tingling, pain in my wrist and fingers in my 2nd trimester. I use a wrist splint at night, and often have to get up and apply ice to it during the night. The ice helps ease the pain some.
