I get sharp pains in my hips, it feels as though they are popping out. Doctor says that it is normal but it gets to the point where I sometimes can't walk. It's really bad if I lay on one side for extended periods of time (like when I'm sleeping at night)
Treatment or advice:
I try and ice my hips once and awhile. It helps a little but not much. The Doctor said to rest and put my feet up.

By the way the hip pain is often blamed on sciatica- which is more nerve pain rather than the joint pain from the hormones relaxing your joints. You can get sciatica but sacro-iliac joint dysfunction is more common- with nerve pain cold helps with joint pain heat helps.

I have terrible pain in my hips that restrict my movement- Went to a physio and it is quite normal for a pregnant woman to get sacro-iliac joint dysfunction. I get up in the morning have a hot shower to warm the joint and then strap myself into a sacro-iliac belt- I am then able to walk- Thank God for this belt otherwise I would have to stop working

I am 27 weeks pregnant with the same sharp pain in my left hip. That is the side I sleep on. The pain wakes me up at 4 am almost every night. Dr said it is sciatica. I sleep with so many pillows, but still no relief. Try stretching the hip before bed.

i have pains in my left hip/butt. it feels like the whole leg has shifted/disconnected. i limp a little. i was told in your 2nd trimester your pelvic bones start to shift and get wider,, and some nerve (siadic?) is on your left side and you notice it more, but it will go away.

My hips feel like they are clenching or contracting when i go to bed at night. I have a lot of insomnia due to this. I actually might have to leave work early because i am so sleep deprived. help!

I am getting this type of pain. Mine doesn't hurt bad, it is like a dull pain. I think I have a cyst on my ovary. It feels like my hip bones are rubbing together and this is the same feeling I get when I ovulate or when a cyst forms
whenever i get ready for bed.i lay down and of course now almost 36 weeks pregnant its hard to get comfy so i toss and turn alot.when i roll over even slowly it feels like i pulled a muscle it only last about a minute or so then goes away and its not like that anymore in the day just at night.does anyone have any clue what this is the only tihng i can guess is ligaments. or is anyone else experiencing this sorry but the spelling.
Treatment or advice:
lift your body up and roll instead of just rolling.
