anyone here us cloth diapers that used to use disposable? Hunter is in size 4 ~ he poos approx 3 times a day ~ Other then night time when he goes 8 hours he is changed approx every 2 hours ~ 3 if he is napping ~ I pay approx $10 for approx 30 diapers. Any idea how much it costs and how it works with a diaper service? I dont want to do it if it will only save me a couple bucks ~ and is it hard to transition? Anyone here swtich and be glad, switch and not be glad ~ Looking to hear from those who've used both ~ how often is changing needed? How much does it cost etc etc? Pro's and ConsTX! Puddle Duckie -

kikiea-- my question was to ask for other causes to an abnormal pap aside from STD's and cervical cancer. When I wrote my post, I had just gotten off the phone with the news and immediately thought of cervical cancer because I have went through it before. Anyone in my position would be freaked out and scared but just because I was voiceing my fears on here does not mean that I would lay that burden on my children. I have gone through worse than an abnormal pap in my life and I have been the very ideal of strong person for my children. I voice my concerns and fear on here because I'm only human and need some source of venting instead of keeping it bottled up all the time, which is not healthy. I know that you're trying to help but you should reword things as to not sound like you're assuming what I'm being like around my children and proceed to lecture on the 'right' way to behave. And also, my fears of having cervical cancer that spreads is not unfounded as I just recently had a cousin die of utereun cancer and she left behind three young children. But since my post, I've had time to collect myself and talk to family members and to also do some research. It seems that yeast infections can cause abnormal paps, and I happened to have one at the time of my pap ( a parting gift of an antibiotic cycle that did not work -.-), so I'm hoping that was the cause of my abnormal pap but I will find out more on my appointment on the 19th. kikiea -

Dolphin - I hate to say this.. but you need to relax, first off. I've had SEVERAL abnormal early cancer paps... I've also had lymphoma... stressing about it is not the way. Teach your children that even in the times of trouble... be happy.. live life to the fullest.. and fight your hardest.. things will be ok. Again... I'm not trying to be insensitive.. or harsh.. but please.. your children need their mommy to teach them how to be strong.. and thing positive.. feel free to write me or yell at me.. dolphinloves4 -

I just got a phone call today from my ob/gyn clinic and they said that my postnatal pap smear came back abnormal... About 2 years before I had Evan, I got an abnormal pap and I was in the beginning stages of cervical cancer. They removed the cells and I've had normal paps since.
Now I'm having another abnormal pap....is there ANYTHING else it could be aside from STD's? (which I KNOW I don't have as I'm faithful to my husband and he's faithful to me so there's no chance). I'm just so frightened right now. I don't want the cancer to be back because I'm afraid they'll have to be more aggressive in their treatments and of course of the chance that it can spred and end up killing me, leaving 4 boys without a mother :( wildberry -

i find it hard to find time to eat as well it seems that my four year old and ten week old take up all my time so i have been trying to find quick easy things to eat with one hand here are a few of the things that i have found so far mini carrots in serving size bags bananas fiber 1 bars i love these they taste great and help with my fiber needs i make my DH lunch sandwiches at night and have started to make them for myself as well it's funny we always find time to feed our kids but not ourselves i also pre make lettuce sandwiches i buy the large harts of Romain put meat and cheese in the middle top it with another lettuce leaf bag it and had a nice sailed on the go as for dinner i make almost every meal from scratch don't laugh but i usually start dinner at lunch time when my baby is napping i pre cook meat or anything else that takes time stick it in the fridge and always make enough for two meals but usually prepare it differently for meal no 2. samj -

If hes 7 weeks early you may have another 2-3 weeks to wait!! so dont worry his 'actual age' is only 3 weeks! bless him the little soul! x xGemx -

I wasn't sure where to put this on the forum but basically, I read on here that a baby normally starts smiling at 6 weeks, My baby is 10 weeks and hasn't started smiling yet really. He was 7 weeks early though. Should I be worried or do you think it's just because he was premature? bigbellyjess -

Just in case none of you knew, for those who haven't had their babies yet.... if you wear those elastic really wide and thick belts for at least 3 months 24/7 after your pregnancy you belly should go back to normal... my sis and two of her friends have done it and their bellies look almost as good as before they were pregnant. I am going to wear one too but I am going to wear the kind that makes you sweat extra water weight and hope it comes out with an even better result than the original kind. Its-Chelle -

dont worry about it, it took nine months to stretch out.. it may take nine to ping back.. it may never ping back to what it was! .. is there just no muscle tone or are you worrying about excess blubber... can you tense your muscles there at all?

you lot are all worrying too much about excercise.. i looked like skelator about 4 weeks after i gave birth and i put 5.5 stones .. i can only lift 3lb weights in the gym even now - do you know how hard it is carrying 10lbs in your arms while going up and down the stairs 15 times a day to fetch nappies, burb rags, dirty washing, contrantly being on your feet, having no sleep, walking to to the shops pushing your buggy up the hills down the pavements... as for dieting.. get your brekfast while you can shove a potato in the oven at 12 for a 1.00 o clock lunch, just as you go to tuck into it, its feed time, then commence your climb/decent up the stairs to fetch you breastpads cause you forgot to bring a box down.. your fitness will be tested in ways you didnt think possible... and you will have the most amazing arms from picking up and carrying your baby!!!

Its-Chelle: I know that they recommend a minimum of 30 minutes a day of exercise, but remember that you can break that up (10 minutes, 3 times a day), and don't be afraid to start at 10 minutes a day, or even 5 if that's all you can handle. Do what you're comfortable with to start, and then after a few days or even a week, add 5 minutes to your workout... don't start on the highest level either - that just makes exercise hurt and unenjoyable... wait til you're a little fitter before pushing the settings :) Its-Chelle -

question, maybe its the type of elliptical i have, plus being out of shape, but i can barely last 2 min at a time on it! whats the best way to start and for how long, like should i have it on the lowest level or higher?it sure wears my legs out fast..lol sharon -

nancy26 - I do the eliptical machine at the gym for 40 minutes 2-3 times a week. It did not affect my milk production at all. You have to remember to stay hydrated and have enough calorie intake. samj -

Now that lucas is a bit older...i just wrap him up and wear him on my back and then get on with cooking..i couldnt really before as i only carried him on my front..hard to cook with him there...but i am turning into a right little chef..hubby very surprised, as i hardly ever cooked before..was always hubby lol karenc -

samj, if you like yogurt and fruit, they make good and easy snacks -- no prep time! I love to cook too but it's a little harder with a new baby, lol! so I try to put together healthy meals that are quick. now that the weather's improving my husband's grilling & that helps a lot. I def try to stay away from frozen meals -- lots of salt in them. I wish I had time to exercise more, meaning other than walking w/ beckett in the stroller. nancy26 -

sharon: what sort of exercise? I'm desperate to start exercising again asap after pregnancy, but I've heard that in some women exercise can affect their milk production? can you get away with running/jogging while breastfeeding (provided you're not starving yourself calorie-wise)?
I guess just remember that 500 calories is a LOT to burn with bf, and that it takes a LOT to exercise that many off... maybe try eating a little more, more frequently to kickstart your metabolism? Also, back in the day when I was skinny :P when I hit a plateau/gained - cutting out white bread and full-fat dairy saw me drop about another 20 pounds. I also ate no refined sugar. Granted that was not after a baby though - who's to tell what pregnancy does to our bodies :)

The thing is tho, when I was breastfeeding, I ate and ate and ate and ate, I was exercising too and I got back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. Now that I have stopped breastfeeding, I eat ALOT less, exercise the same but cannot get rid of this weight that I piled back on. So frustrating! Before I was pregnant I could eat anything and everything and my weight stayed the same. samj -

yeah..tbh my hubby has been saying the same thing..but before i was pregannt i used to each way too much.and all the wrong foods...and in the first few weeks when lucas was here i got into a very bad habit of not having breakfast..i would just have an early lunch then my dinner...but now i m ake sure i have breakfast..then lunch (altho it is a small lunch usually cereal again..or toast, occ a sandwich (altho i have a thing for burnt toast lately!! odd) then a proper hot dinner..which since i am at home still..is something cooked from scratch..we were big frozen food ready meal type people before..but ive discovered a passion for cooking, lol..tonight im making lime infused rice!! but tbh i could do with maybe having a cpl healty snacks inbetween mealtimes as they are very streched out as i eat dinner when hubby gets back from work..arounf 7-8 pm....and i would have had lunch at maybe 2pm. I am drinking loads more water now also....so i am eating a lot more healthier now...;-)) karenc -

samj, you're probably not eating enoughthe right foods. if your calorie output is higher than your input, your body will start taking meaures, like slowing down metaolism. try adding more protein to your diet and eating several small meals a day, rather than just BLD. I have a hard time finding time to eat more than something small & quick and have noticed that I have a craving for toast. my body must be looking for carbs for energy. mmmmtoast! :) samj -

i know breastfeeding can use up to 500 calories a day...but while i am now down to my pre pregnancy weight....(altho my jeans still dont fit!!!) i eat a lot less than when i was pregnant and before i was pregnant..so tbh id be expecting to lose more..but im not..im alwaya 1-2 pounds around my pre pregnancy weight. MInd u when i say im eating less..it is more i have ceareal for brekkie...and again for lunch (or toast) then my dinner in evening...before i would have very buttery toast in morning at work..then a big hot lunch at work then a dinner at evening...and all the take outs!! i miss take outs lol..but we are trying to be good and healthy..;-) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 NextAll forums latest comments
