Pears, apples, prunes ~ foods high in fiber and fruits :) Fresh is more effective then jarred so try fresh first then if that doesnt work by jarred fruits ~ :) Prunes are def helpful ~ Prune juice too :)

Hi everyone. i'm very new at this mommy thing so i would like to know what i can give my 1 year old daughter to eat to help her constipation? i have a feeling that it might be from switching over to whole milk. Also, she has a rash down there in that area and she has been throwing up. maybe she's lactose intolerant? maybe i should just try some soy milk? i tried giving her prune juice but she refuse to take it. i dunno whats better for her. i tried calling her physician but she wasn't there? so any suggestions to help?

Jandrews- your welcome! Brody was 8lbs 5oz when he was born and by the time we left the hospital he was just about 10lbs. (I was in the hospital for a week). Seems like Brody is bigger than your son but your son is older. I breastfeed and bottle feed Brody. Every baby is different though.

Mrs.jandrews - 288 days ago.
Thanks so much for your advise PregoNes and Jennabean!

jennabean - 288 days ago.
jandrews my boy is 13 weeks old tomorrow and he weighs 13lb 1oz (got weighed today), I am only breast feeding. He was born 6lb 15oz., he is not fat either. Hope this helps, I certainly don't think you have a fat baby or there is anything wrong, the weight gain is normal, if it wasn't your health viitor would say. xx

tferguson: You should do what is right for you and your family...With this pregnancy I had to work two jobs because hubby got laid off right after I found out I was prego...it has been tough he finally got a job and I quit one of mine...I personally have had one abortion...gasp...(To all: please no mean comments) I have also have had several misscarriages..The idea of having another was very scary for us..in fact hubby went on a drinking bender for a while and I really didn't think we would make it..but we pulled through and are getting rather excited now..yet he is still standoffish of the whole baby shopping thing..it doesn't help that I am hormonal and bite his head off everytime we go shopping..but he is getting used to it and has learn to take it with a grain of salt..but anyways..its your choice and never let anyone make you feel guilty for what you feel is right.

jenakers - 289 days ago.
Well, if it's another girl the hand-me-down clothes would be free. They would vertually share everything Pacifiers-crib-toys so you already have everything. Probably wouldn't be as expensive as having a boy. Your hubby should be able to go back to work when he is healed. Up to you girl, I'd wait just a little while for the shock to wear off (like a week or two) before jumping headlong into a decision.

luvbeingamom - 289 days ago.
t- there is no easy answer to your question. You certainly have the obvious options, of abortion or adoption if you don't feel you can keep this baby. I know personally i couldn't do either of those options and i would take a day by day approach and do everything i can to keep our heads above water. It really comes to your and your husbands choices, ideals and thoughts. I personally believe that God wouldn't give anyone anything they can't handle. I don't envy your situation and wish you the best of luck in any choice you make! ((((HUGS))))

tferguson - 289 days ago.
Alright, it has been a while since I have been on here. I figured that is was so helpful with my last pregnancy that I would try it again. My youngest daughter is almost 8 months old. My husband and tried for two years to have her. Last night I just found out that I am pregnant again and I don't know what to do. We have tow girls already, my husband is out of work due to an injury and I am the only one bringing in any money. I know this is very touchy for some and I ask that if you don't have any positive advise to please keep it to yourself. But if you can offer any words of wisdom or points to consider please feel free to send them my way.

Yay!! I'm not alone. My son is 14lbs 8oz and 26inches long and he's 8weeks old. Two weeks ago he was 13lbs 12oz 25 in a half inches long so he's literally a growing baby!! He's not fat or anything he's just long. My doctor said he's healthy and that there's nothing wrong with him so I'm okay with his weight and everything. Hey as long as your baby is healthy and your doctor hasnt mention any weight or health problems then I wouldnt worry about it.

*lovelymomma* - 290 days ago.
jandrews, my son was 13lbs 14oz at 9 weeks! He doubled his birth weight at 2 months! My doctor said he fine though not too big. He's 17 weeks now and about 17lbs his growth has slowed down a little but he's still a big boy. I don't think there is anything wrong with a chuncky baby you know their healthy that way! :)

izziebo - 290 days ago.
hey ladies. my 5 month old baby girl has got a door bouncer thing and she loves it shes always gigglign when shes in it however iv noticed that she never puts her right foot properly on the ground its always curled up n shes on her tiptoes on it should i take her to the docs about this im worried incase theres a problem with it

Mrs.jandrews - 290 days ago.

Mrs.jandrews - 290 days ago.

happyforest - 290 days ago.
jandrews- my 11 week old is 14 lb 9 oz! hes not even got any fat rolls...hes just big all together! he also just went up to size 2 diapers. i dont think 11 lbs is too big at all....dont worry!

Mrs.jandrews - 290 days ago.
My son will be 11 wks this Friday and we were at the DR on Monday and he weighs 11lbs 15oz...1oz shy of 12lbs! I am only breastfeeding him. I am not sure if this is bad..my DR said it was he has basically doubled his birth weight. He doesn't look big...but I believe I have change his diaper size now too...he leaked through 2 of his diapers sized 1 diapers today. Any feedback would be helpful! Thanks so much!

petersonj - 291 days ago.
Thanks guys!! I drink soy milk myself and I had my son on soy but so many people scared me and it didn't help his eczema so I put him back on the previous formula. I tried the goats milk and he will not drink it! I even did half and half and he still wouldn't even touch it...I have the fussiest kid in the world. His eczema is still terrible and now he's decided to wake up 6-8 times a night and is up for good at 7!! I think I might lose my mind!! The doctors here are no help neither. Everytime I go in and see the doctors they just tell me to keep putting cortizone cream on his face and he'll grow out of it. Oh the joys of motherhood haha.

nikkiekck - 291 days ago.
saw ur comment. i use to use the soy milk called 'silk' she loved it and it comes in chocolate 2! just a option you may want to try besides that goat milk...

katie22 - 291 days ago.
p.s., though it is nearly 2x more expensive than regular formula (here in new zealand anyway..)

katie22 - 291 days ago.
petersonj: have u tried a lactose free formula? i give it to alex and find he is much better on it- skin wise and stops his tummy upsets.

katie22 - 291 days ago.
ok so anyone else find mashed bananas stains clothing?? i just wrecked a 15 pound bib from harrods....

happyforest - 292 days ago.
forest has recently started sucking and chewing on his hand ALL THE TIME!! they are red, swollen, and cracking. i dont know what to do. he normally takes a pacifier but now he just spits it out and goes for his hands. if i put gloves on him he still chews on them, then they are wet and irritates his hands even more. i hope this doesnt last too much longer! i have checked and he has no teeth or tooth bumps yet...so i dont think he is teething... ?

RobinG - 296 days ago.
I would love to know about the other proteins they eat to keep it up ~ as I said, I would have gone rice milk but was concerned about the protein ~ we eat organic often too and always organic milk and dont mind trying new things if it is beneficial ~
