kristin1369- I wouldn't worry about it every baby is different. My 9 month old weighs 18 pds 6oz and my little nephew who is only 7 months weighs over 20 pds. and my son eats more than him. Your baby may just be petite. I have a 5 yr. old son who only weighs 38 pds.

KayandRysMoM - 1118 days ago.
Kristin-my daughter has always been the same way. She was born 7lbs 12oz and gained weight slow. She was 18 months before she hit 20lbs and now she is almost 4 and weighs only 29lbs...she is healthy as anything though!

happyforest - 1118 days ago.
no, is your doctor not concerned?? my 11 week old weighed 13 lb 12 oz at his 8 wk appointment...

kristin1369 - 1118 days ago.
My daughter is 8 months old and she weights 13lbs. she was 6lbs 15oz at birth and now shes eating 2 jars of stage 3 baby food and 8-10oz bottles every 3hrs...anyone heard of anything like this? she eats all the time and shes still tiny

shanelle - 1121 days ago.
is there a place on here for baby acne?

RobinG - 1122 days ago.
My middle son had it 3 times, but he only lost a quarter size spot on his head on three differnt occassions. Took a while tc come back and a different color too (darker) We were told that a virus most likely caused it, when a child is sick the system can respond this way he said. So when he gets a cold or illness we watch for it ~ has your son recently been sick? That may have triggered it (((()))) hugs ~ my moms and sisters all lost hair during chemo, including eyelashes and it caused alot of eye irritation since the lashes keep dust etc out so best to keep his eyes protected when you can if you are near an area that particles can be stirred or encourage him to close his eyes when he is or wear sunglasses. I wouldnt have him near you when you vaccumm. (()) hugs ~

ElenaC - 1122 days ago.
Hello everyone! I have a 5 years old boy and 2 years ago my little boy lost all his hair, including his eyelashes and eyebrows. He is a healthy little boy, very smart, very friendly but our problem is the hair. Do you know anyone with this kind of problem. It is called alopecia totalis. I have noticed it is not a forum about this. Maybe we can do something about it.

luvbeingamom - 1126 days ago.
thanks ladies, we did give him tylenol last night which was a bit of a battle itself. He didn't want to take them b/c the last time he did (months ago) he vomited right after. So he was terrified of doing thatagain. But after getting him to calm down he took it and by morning his fever was gone and hasn't been back. He is being a bit more lathargic so i am going to watch it and see. If it happens again i will contact the doc and prob go in.

RobinG - 1126 days ago.
Not sure exactly but there may be something brewing perhaps or teething ~ hard to say but fevers are known spike more at night then daytime typically. I would call doc just to have a check to be sure he is ok ((()))

luvbeingamom - 1126 days ago.
I have a question... My 3 and half yr old son last night spiked a fever of over 103 at around 2am. He didn't seem ill or say he didn't feel good last night. he was fine. This morning, same thing. He is fine. Any ideas what can cause a sudden spike in fever with no other symptoms?

hi notsmithers, i know how frustrating it easy. at one point my daughter was eating all the food in the small jars and then she stopped liking them. same thing with the cereal. she seemed to want to eat our food at that point. also she wanted to eat stuff by herself, that was very messy and i dont know if she was eating a lot but it was what she wanted. at 7 months mine didnt want a lot of variety in fruit but maybe yours is more sophisticated? anyway try and try again. he may be teething and not want to eat that much too.

notsmithers - 1132 days ago.
hi ladies, my son is 7 months at the end of the month, ive been trying to feed him solids since 6 months. for a while he was eating the fruit puree and liking it but has gone back to shutting his mouth the min the spoon comes near him! im bf and have to till his one bc of allergy but im trying to get some iron into him(aparently iron from bm isnt enough after 6 mths) i try to feed him fruit in the morn and dinner at 1 or 4. i bf every 4 hrs but he doesnt was solids before or after feeding. have any of ye had the same prob, am i feeding him solids at the wrong time?.. thanks

RobinG - 1135 days ago.
TX though, I still may try it ~ if it isnt very oval it may help at some point ~ therapist came today and we tested him on a few things and he had a different bottle near him and refused to use it and was signing for milk and when I tried that bottle he refused and flipped out. He has used it before and didnt have trouble so it wasnt like it didnt work or have a flow that was bothersome. But he has these times when he just can do change... So we put it in his bottle and he was instant happy baby. He does this with many things, if I feed him on my right arm he does the same if I put him in left arm he is all fine :) even a slight change gets him confused. (Motorplanning part) But that being said I cant feed him on a bottle forever so I do have to transition. If that one is between the one I have and his bottle it may be a good slow transition. I like the long spout/nipple on it or is photo not really accurate?

Bri - 1135 days ago.
It is more oval. Not as oval as some but it sounds like it's not something that you need. Sorry! I hope you can find one.

RobinG - 1135 days ago.
I just looked at those, is the sippy nipple round or oval? He struggles with oval ~ It looks roundish but I cant see top view to know for sure ~ does babies r us sell them so I can see them?

RobinG - 1135 days ago.
Yeah sadly he has one like that and although he does good with it at times he really needs his bottle for now for certain times ~ its part of his sensory intergration issues he has that cause concerns with motor planning and melt downs he has ~ so we are transitioning him slowly at the therapists/docs request and they suggested it. The one we have is soft and flexible and clear like a bottle but not a round nipple and it really causes issues with him. Not OCD but explaining it like that to help explain him. His brains sensors dont adjust to change well and him holding it is what he needs to do first docs feel then the nipple change. But I will def check them out too :) TX!

Bri - 1135 days ago.
Robin - have you looked into different sippies that might be more like a bottle. Kekoa uses the Born Free sippy cup and the 6month nipple is more like a bottle then a sippy. It's soft and has a Y cut so when he bites down it opens up. Hunter might like that one. Kekoa loves his and when he gets better you can just buy a 9month nipple which is hard and a faster slow.

RobinG - 1135 days ago.
Other then avent and nubby anyone know a good bottle that has the attachable handle for holding? Not looking for the sippy cup but a bottle with nipple. Hunters issues still require him to use a bottle. He cant hold one but can hold one with a handle. I bought a nubby brand and dont like it. TX!

mammo - Robin is right that it is very common to start waking again but I would try to avoid night feedings now, especially if you are breastfeeding. My son was sleeping through the night and at 3months he started waking and I started feeding. It became a habit and the one time a night got up to 6times. It was awful. He is now 14months and STILL waking. I've had to put my foot down and not feed him. Last night we got him down to one feed at 3am. Thank God! I work and getting up six times was really getting to me. Hopefully by 15months he will get through the whole night!

RobinG - 1135 days ago.
mammo sounds like the normal growth spurt they get at this age that does lead them to wake for feeds at night. Very normal and common, once the spurt is over they tend to go back to sleeping longer :) Def feed him as he needs it and increase in bottle size or oz if bottle fed at bedtime may help some but def normal and expected at this age ((()))

CEEJAYLPN - No worries, like Luv I've also knocked my poor little man's head before. It is usually a scratch from a finger nail or something but it happens. I guess I'm kind of a cluts. HAHA! I've smack my husband more times then I can count. HAHA! If your baby didn't cry and has no marks don't worry. Congrats on your new one! That's great!
