Help!! Usually my 2yr old loves all medicine. Especially motrin. All of sudden today, with a temp of 101, he is refusing to take it. I also have him on amoxicillen and he took that yesterday but won't today. He is basically, refusing to eat anything that isn't mine, and refusing to drink anything that isn't clear. I have tried dosing out of cups, mixed in drinks/food, and droppers..pretending I'm drinking it and it's wonderful. What else can I do???

My son had a febrile seizure last tuesday and it took 3 days to get his fever to go down. We never did get a straight answer on what caused his fever to shoot up. Some said it was from his shots he got that day and then another says that it was a stomach virus because when he was coming out of the postictal shock he thru up 5 times. So who knows but I wish someone could tell me. My son was fine one minute with no fever and then all of a sudden he was having a seizure and a fever of 103.4

lyfe is it a different type of antibiotic?? Sometimes whatever is wrong doesn't react to a certain kind of antibiotic, but will reach better to a different antibiotic. I've only had this happen once with my little ones, but hopefully the new antibiotic will make a difference soon. In the past my kids fevers have broken within the first 24 hrs or so of the antibiotic getting into their system...depending on the antibiotic (and how strong of a dosage). Hope your little one gets to feeling better.

Hippocrates once said “Give me a fever and I can cure the child”. By understanding that a simple fever is a symptom rather than a condition orillness in itself, you soon come to realise that it is an ally and notan enemy. Fevers are the first sign that your child’s immune symptom isfunctioning as it should. By increasing core body temperature, feversenable the immune system to swing into action, indicating the body’sdefences are fighting an infection and consequent temperaturefluctuat ions indicate how the body is coping. - Natural Parenting.

My son is not even a month old yet (he'll be one month old on the 1st of Jan.) well he has a fever & the doctor at the urgent care told me to give him Tylenol Infant Drops but he didnt say how much! So how much should I give him? I called poision control & my local pharmarcy but they couldnt help me. I'm nervous about giving him medicine because he is so small...but at the same time it scares me that he has a fever. Before we left urgent care his temp was 99.4. I checked his temp about 2hrs ago & it was 98.7 but I checked under his arm so I dont know how accurate it was. HELP So what should I do? How much Tylenol should I give him?!
*Btw: his doc is out of town until Jan. 6 or else I would just call her.
