Annettelouise - 120 days ago.
i had a c sect 12 weeks ago, I sufered diabetes so couldnt go full term, i was admitted to hospital 9am on a sunday, they tried inducing me for a week (very very painful in the end & ended up on gas & air for the internal examinsations every few hours) but my lo did not want to come so a c sect was booked for the sat afternoon, I was wheeled down at 4pm, prep'd (my main concerns were.. having the epi, worried id faint during the op & the risks to my bladder, bowel etc), the medical team were lovely, the epi worked a treat, didnt hurt at all, i was given a shot for sickness - again worked a treat, I was wheeled into theatre around 4.35pm at 4.48pm James was born - even then he didnt want to come and forceps were used!. At midnight I was wheeled up to the ward, at 1am was given my anti clotting injection, then at 4am James had to go to neonatal for low blood sugars. At 8am my cathetor was removed (didnt feel a thing) and I was told i could go see my son as soon as I was ready. I was in pain getting up and standing for the first time but my determination toget to my son who i felt was alone in neonatal needing his mummy made me super strong. I walked down there - stairs and everything. My scar healed in a week when my stitches were removed. I never felt a thing during the c sect not even the tugging sensation but sil was with me talking the whole time - I did at one point (during being stitched up) get terrible shakes, my teeth were chattering and everything, but it was comical at that time and only lasted about 15 mins. My bladder and bowel are fine, my scar is healed I have never really had any pain from it, slightly sore/stiff trying to turn in bed for the first week (just like the last week in pregnancy) but overall I know if I had to have another I wouldnt be half as afraid now. The only lasting damage i do seem to have suffered if loss of feeling in the bottom of my stomach but I think that is nerve damage so might never come back - small price to pay for my son being born healthy. My scar is very neat and my badge of motherhood, i love it.

First baby was born vaginally after induction. Second baby was a c section because he wasn't moving no matter how much I pushed. Turned out he was sunny side up and had the cord around his neck. Day 1 - extremely nauseous. not too much pain since they gave me a nice dose of morphine before they removed the epidural. (epidural was the worst part of the whole c section procedure). Didn't meet my DS until 7 hours after procedure. Day 2 - I tried to be brave and deal with the pain. didn't work I took the motrin. Made a world of difference. Pain continued to get less with each day after that. My fellow c section friends gave me good advice. You must get out of bed and walk as soon as possible. Its the one thing that speeds up recovery and gets your intestines moving again.

baby5forus(PINK) - 170 days ago.
I have had three csections and i must say the third was not much different than the first two. I am on my fourth csection now due in february. Just make sure you get up and walk ASAP because my last baby was in NICU and they wheeled me instead of me walking, so I hurt for much longer than the first two. I know better this time. Even if the baby is a NICU baby again, I will definately be walking this time.

sheridan-p - 185 days ago.
this is my 3rd section too and i must say im more frightnened this time than the other 2!! and this anterior placenta does not help as i only found out i had it on a private scan got wait for my 5 month one to see if its over the scar or not :( i think its high tho as for 17 weeks im huge and can feel baby kicking up high i think its the risks 3rd time round that are more worrying x

cowgirl - 186 days ago.
This will be my third c-section the 1st two with no complications and I have the same concerns. My OB-GYN assures me that's it's not going to be a problem and I have nothing else to base an opinion. What have you heard?

sheridan-p - 186 days ago.
anyone had a c-section with antierior placenta? ive heard nothing but horror stories and im frightened x

mommy-on2 - 190 days ago.
wow so i read all this just because, i already had a c section a year in a half ago but to me they make it sound so much more unwanting then what it actually is, mine was not bad at all like i felt pressure and pulling and that didnt feel to good but other then that i dont think it was that bad.. now i didnt look at my incision for almost a week cause it sounded so gross to me and i didnt dare want to look. but i think your age has a lot to do with it also. i was only 18 so it wasnt bad but im hoping this time will be the same but im nervous!

young-yummy-mummy - 199 days ago.
has anybody here ever had a c section after some pretty serious complications after birth? My second c section was in april and i got loads of problems afterwards i wont go into details dont wanna scare anyone . Hubby and i would like to start trying in march for baby number 3 . But i am a little apprehensive about it in case the same thing happens again. Anybody gone through the same thing ?

lilmissesmum- - 277 days ago.
tsunamimani just read you post and wanted to let you know that my mum has had 5 sections and she went and had her tubes tied on the last also. she didn't have any complications or anything from having so many except the usual loss of feeling that you get from the cutting.

tsunamimami - 278 days ago.
I'm 10weeks pregnant and this will be my 5th cesarean (I'm due December 8th). I'm nervous because I had a bad consultation then I switched doctors and now I'm a little more at ease but still nervous. I will be tying my tubes for certain after this baby is born and I'm also mentally prepared to have a hysterectomy if necessary. Has any else on here had many cesareans or know of anyone personally that has had five?

4th baby due in june - 300 days ago.
well i have my csection scheduled june 10th im bit nervous i must say cause my first 2 were vaginal birth my 3rd was an emergency csection and i slept through the whole process this is my 4th and last and im having scheduled csection and tubal not sure what to expect far if im awake for the process of the surgery hope it goes well

erica75 - 312 days ago.
ILU2- Don't be afraid of a c-section. i was too but it's not that bad. Maybe a week of being uncomfortable but that's it. I had 2, one with my son 2 years ago and one 6 weeks ago because of a tubal pregnancy. I was back to work as a hairsdresser 3 weeks later. My baby was over 10 lbs. and I still carried him around. lol

ily2xoxo - 313 days ago.
this is my 2nd child my 1st was a vaginal delivery this one i have a sched C section for May 6th! I am scared!

ElanaMoM - 316 days ago.
I am 10wks preggo with baby number 3. I have had 2 prior c-sections and am scheduled for another with this baby in late October. My daughters are 3yrs and 5yrs. Thank god for both of my c-sections I have had the best doctors ever cutting me open so thankfully i have had no complications what so ever. Both went very smoothly and closed and healed excellent. You can barely see my scar now (bikini cut) its incredible. Plus the meds they gave me to go home with afterwards ( liquid perkaset)!!!!!!!!! Let's just say I felt nothing for 2wks. lol. I'm regularly around 114pds and 5foot 1in so the docts say there was really no fat to cut through which made the c-sec easy. Even tho the past 2 went smoothly not really looking foward to this one cuz regardless of how smoothly a c-sec goes nobody wants to be cut open ever. But to see that new little face will all be worth it.

mz. Baby Tyes - 339 days ago.
I must say I had a good experience with C-section for my daughter. 24 hours after, the nurse was trying to get me to take pain meds, but I didnt feel I need it ( I was very numb, LOL) and was walking around. But she keep bugging me because she was scared I would start hurting and then would need med and explained It would take a while before it will work. Within 48 hours I was home and only took pain med 3 times.

mizzbrwneyez@gmail.com - 355 days ago.

charmara - 382 days ago.
hey ladies! When can you exercise after a c-section? I mean only moderate exercise nothing drastic.

flossy05 - 392 days ago.
Hey!Im having my 3rd csection, booked for valentines day!! Im worried because we are living in a new country and i dont know what to expect from there health care system,my midwife is awesome and will be there with me.

charmara - 394 days ago.
Jenn- I just had one on the 4th. They gave me a spinal during the section, and then something else that lasts about 12 hours or so. They said I could have morphine if the pain was bad, but I just took the ibuprofen (which I had to take probably to avoid blood clots) and another drug called narco (might be spelled wrong) For me the most pain I had was while I was in the hospital, and when I got home I was able to just take the ibuprofen. It's been 2 weeks and I feel almost normal. Just itchy now. I had never had a section before with my other kids so I was pretty nervous, but now after experiencing it, it wasn't a walk in the park, but not as bad as I had imagined it. You'll feel fine after a week :) Good luck with your LO!!!

lilmissesmum- - 395 days ago.
hey Jen1022 Have the doctor or yourself thought or tried a version (manual turning of bub)? A c section usually they will use a epidural, once that starts to wear off they will use morphine for 24hrs and then depending on the amount of pain they might try something less invasive to administer. I can't remember how long the procedure takes I do remember that it doesn't take very long for bub to be born, you spend more time getting put back together than it takes for the baby to be born, if this is going to be your first section and you want to breastfeed you might need to look into other ways of holding baby, the scar usually hurts for a while and can make that first step to feeding a little difficult. The med staff will tell you how everything will go and explain it all clearly to youon the day, hope it goes well for you.

jenn1022 - 395 days ago.
Hi ladies I am due Feb 22nd I am almost 35 weeks and my baby is breech so I will most likely be needing a C-section. I am a little nervous because I have never had one before and I was wondering how long the procedure usually takes and what kind of pain killer do they use? The closer I get to my due date the more nervous I get..

supastar97 - 452 days ago.
I am having my second C section. Yikes! Im trying not to have anxiety attacks but its not looking good! I have been prescribed anti anxiety meds however when i took them I noticed the baby did not move as much. I dodnt like the idea of her feeling druged.

sarahjay - 464 days ago.
my c section was a greta experience, baby wouldnt drop so they gave me a spinal block, it was really scary at first, but once i got in there and knew it had to be done there was no turning back. I was up the next day after the c section walking, and home as well. My recovery was really smooth, and i hear that isnt always the case. but Im looking forward to my next c section in december. :)

mylouie1 - 468 days ago.
RJBROWN- I will be thinking of you on Monday. You will do just fine. I was a wreck with my first but it really was not that bad. Pain is well managed and you really shouldn't feel much. Once you hear your little one's first cry you will be overwhelmed with emotion and forget about everything else. I wish you the best of luck. If it helps you any my hubby was with me but was not that supportive. He watched the surgery most of the time. The anethiesologist was by my side the whole time and was very supportive and explained everything that was happening. Good luck and congrats.

MonikaOH - 474 days ago.
cdoyle80 I had scheduled Csection wit hfirst one(39.5 weeks didn't drop and was 8 lbs 10 oz... I am tiny 5'4'' so Dr. decided induction was not an option). My recovery was quick... First 4 days were ugly but they kept me on meds... I was able to drive after a week
