needing advice..... I am on my third child and this will be our last due to high risk pregnancies. I will be having another scheduled csection. We want to do permanent sterilization because an accidental pregnancy would not be a good thing for my health. We are debating whether to have me get tubal ligation or him a vasectomy. I am already in surgery and cut open so for me to get it would be logical, however i have heard it effects hormones and such and that scares me due to blood pressure issues directly related to my hormones. Anyone who has had this done and had problems please comment, or if you havent had problems! Thanks.

Hi..I use to frequent this site a lot when I was pregnant with my son. After having my son ( who is now 2) I had a tubal. my problem is this past month I started bleeding two weeks early light bleeding for three days with a headache the whole time that tylenol would not get rid of. I have also have been having hotflashes. I researched it online, and all I could come up with is pregnancy. I know a couple people that have got pregnant after a tubal. I hope that is not my case though. Anyone had anything like this after having there tubes tied. What could be going on ?

I am a momma of 2 Boy & girl Very Happy with my Two childern My husband And I decided that two childern was plenty I Got my Tubal ligation after my daughter was born it was our Joint decision I Just have serious cramps and sometimes My period is very heavy but not major!!!

Okay this is going to seem like a very odd question lol but I had my tubal ligation over 2 years ago after the birth of my 4th son. Ever since then, my periods have been really horrible and off, then recently they've become pretty spot on, like every 28 days kinda thing. Well, I am now about 4 days late and the only possible time I could have gotten pregnant would have been from the 21st to the 29th of this month lol Am I totally being overly paranoid or is it actually possible that I could have gotten pregnant? Would I actually miss my period already? or did I randomly just go back to having screwy periods. Has this happened to anyone else?

ok ladies I have a question...I had my tubal ligation 3 weeks ago, I didnt experience any of the shoulder & diaphram gas pains like my doc said I would from them blowing up my belly with air during surgery because I prepared for it & took Gas-x when I got home & then every 6hrs for 2 days...my doc checked my incision sites last week & said they are healing nicely but now for like the last 5-6 days I am feeling really bloated & uncomfy in the lower abdominal area...not gassy or anything just bloated & uncomfy from morning to night. It is frustrating me because my son is now 2 1/2 months old & I was losing my baby weight great, sliming down nicely (only had 5lbs left to go to lose to pre prego weight) till surgery was done & now I look like I have the pudgy muffin top tummy again like I did right after surgery....Is this normal during recovery period? If so how long will this bloated feeling last? I dont know how long it takes to fully recover from laperscopic surgery so I am hoping it is normal & will go away shortly. I am not a fan of my doc so I dont have any interest in going back to her for advice either. Ugh I hate it & now will only wear baggy shirts to hide my pudgy belly.

hello everyone. i had a question on this. i am from utah and am 20 and have two kids. a 2 year old boy and a 2 week old girl and me and my husband dont want anymore kids and i was wondering if you have to be a certain age to get your tubes tied or have a certain number of kids. iknow alot of drs try to talk to out of it. my husband probably has a better chance at getting cut since he is 24. but if anyone knows please let me know. t hanks

If you are thinking about getting a tubal ligation(tubes tied) you might want to research 'ptls' It is real and it's not fun at all. If you dont believe it, take a look at how many woman are getting tubal reversals.

Well I am almost a week late on my period...but my cousin says this is normal after having your tubes tied. I have only had one since I got my tubes tied almost 4 months ago (but I was nursing). I will prolly take a test this weekend if I dont get something....I dont have the feeling that I am pregnant (which I normally do when I am) but I would like to know if I am or not ya know?

bjenna1- my older sister has had this done.. and she has never had a c section. she had it done on the spot to i believe, ask your dr to make sure though. i know that you can do it even after you have a kid. i have a friend who got it done 3 months after she had her last kid.

I am starting to get nervous. I had a tubal during my c-section almost 1 year ago. I should have had my period last week but instead I had some pink on the toilet paper when I wiped. I did that for 3 or 4 days. I didn't even consider the possibility of being pregnant until my little sis asked if I could be. My last period was around the end of May, first of June. I think it was June 1. I am starting to freak out...any ideas?

Well After having my daughter in april 2008 I had my tubes clipped and tied ., but I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possable for me to be pregnant again ? I have most the same pregnancy symptoms, Nausea, Dizziness, Craving garlic and chocolate ugh , tired and it feels as if my lower stomach is having butterflies flutter in it . Im 3 weeks late on my period . what are the odds of me being pregnant again ., and oh yea heartburn again ugh .. if anyone knows about this or knows anyone who has gotten pregnant again after tubal liagation please private message me .. thank you :)

Well,here I am again.I haven't had a period since March 1.Went to the DR last week took a test and it was negative.I have been taking antibotics and pain medicine.The DR said that the medicine won't affect my period.I had my tubes tied 10 years ago.The DR said that since I have them tied that I can't get pregnant.They think it's a thyroid problem.I had that checked almost a year ago and that was fine.Hubby asked me this weekend if I have ever missed my period.I said yes only when I was pregnant.Now I don't know what to think.

I had a tubal done after giving birth to my 3rd back in November. For anyone that has had a tubal...have you experienced any side effects. Sorry if this is TMI...but I am having flooding (severe bleeding) with my periods. Mind you this is only my second one since birth. Any other post tubal's had this problem?? Please comment on my page thanks~ Would really like to chat with women who have post tubal ligation syndrome.

itosha ever since i got my tubes tied i've been an emotional wreck yet my mom and sister are both normal like they use to be, i havent noticed any weight changes but everyones body is different.

i am pregnant with my 4th baby. i am going to get a tubal. i was informed the other day that it can make you have hormone problems. is this true? also does it effect your weight?

msmillsap08 Hi, I had my tubes tied 3 years ago, my children are 16 & 7 years old and I'm not 19 weeks PG with my 3rd. Big shock, but that's worn off & my OB/GYN says it's meant to be. (I had my tubes tied by a different OB/GYN). Other than the pregnancy, I haven't had any other problems after having the TL done.

If any of your continue to have problems you might want to google ' Post tubal ligation syndrome' otherwise known as PTLS. I suffered with this for years after having my tubes tied and I had no idea the changes in my body were due to having my tubes tied. It all made sense when I accidentally ran across a message board where women were discussing their PTLS. Finally I knew what was wrong with me. I have since had my tubal ligation reversed and everything has returned to normal. Some women never have a problem after a TL, but there are many who do. I wish you all the best.

i got my tubes tied on friday. I have been having very bad cramps and bleeding. Is this normal? How long does the soreness and pain last? I have had 2 c-sections and so far this has been much worse!
