This is a great post... I wish I had seen this before I was pregnant the first time around! I made a website at http://fashionablematernityclothes.net to help people find what they need, but it's great to have a guideline here so they know what to look for in the first place!

Hello,
I am a first time mum to Evan almost 9 months (time really flies) and hoping to be ytrying for our second soon
But during my pregnancy I hated not looking nice I had a real struggle to find anything that didn't make me look like a walking tent even though I wasn't that big. This has spurred me on to make my own review and recommendation blog for maternity clothes.
www.maternitycentral.co.uk
I review brands, what the pregnant celebs are wearing and what I like, if you have a few minutes have a browse and let me know what you think I'm open to any ideas, suggestions.
Thanks Sam xxxx

Lissie, I stick straight out too. Try WomanWithin online....they have a lot of long tunics in larger sizes that might fit you for pregnancy! Good luck!

I am not too tall 5'6' and I wear xsmall preprego. I gained 40-50 pounds with my last 2 pregnancies. My problem is finding shirts that are long enough?! I tend to stick straight out and most of the shirts aren't long enough! If I go up in size the shoulders are huge on me. Any one have any ideas?

I found lots of cute upto date materniy clothes at Ross's, Burlington Coat Factory and Target. I loved Ross and Burlington the best. I paid less than $11.00 for shirts, pants, skirts etc. Burlington also has great baby clothes!

Anyone have suggestions for where to get a good pair of maternity jeans? I usually don't spend money on maternity clothes if I don't have to because it is short term but I am really uncomfortable and willing to invest in a pair of good jeans. I have not had luck at motherhood maternity. When I am not pregnant I am a size 2 and usually buy long pants (out of brands that do short, regular, long)so maternity pants are usually too short and wide. Would love suggestions!

It's sometimes nice to get a few higher end, designer items, just so I feel pampered a little bit! I've bought a TON of loose fitting, elastic band clothes that switching up with some designer maternity jeans or a sexy top is refreshing...just a thought for everyone out there. You can check out some great maternity outfit ideas here as well:

My favorite maternity shop is www.queenbee.com.au as it has everything from casual wear to formal wear and wedding dresses! You can get all your maternity bras etc there as well, its so much easier being able to get everything in one place with so much else to do!

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on clothes that I wouldn't be wearing for very long, so I visited Goodwill and resale shops and found some good deals on maternity clothes.

Motherhood, Gap and Old Navy have wonderful and well made clothes. The best part is that they also have lots of sales. I have clothes I adore. I wore them through my last pregnancy, many shirts while breastfeeding for two years and now I'm wearing them again with my next pregnancy. Some shirts and such have never left my closet. They don't look like maternity and they fit my boobs. HAHA! Oh and Costco. They don't sell maternity but they have some awesome cotton tees. I have some Calvin Cline that were like $10 and will fit my belly throughout pregnancy and onto breastfeeding again. Love it!

Well I don't know about you Charlotte, but I don't like to compromise quality for dirt cheap prices...you know what they say, you get what you pay for. Cheap usually means it is poor quality and will not last. I shop with the comfort of knowing that my maternity clothes will last through however many pregnancies I decide to go through. Who wants to buy a whole new wardrobe every time they get pregnant. I know I don't. And the prices are at Morning Chic are comparable to most maternity stores plus you get great customer service,a well made product, and fast delivery.

ASH- no pads needed? it will still get soaked with milk and smell terribly, won't it?
TALITHA- although I like the bella band, I did end up having to fix it a lot throughout the day. kind of annoying. but I liked it better than using a rubber band. my favorite things are things that say they fit 0-9 months, so versatile and well worth the money. (pants and skirts mostly)
