An amazing transformation will be occuring over the next nine months!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It takes approximately 260 days for your baby to completely form and develop from the date of conception to the date of birth. Your baby will start out as a microscopic zygote and grow into a 7-8 pound (on average) human being! You are carrying a miracle inside of you. While every pregnancy is unique, most women will experience many of the same symptoms, feelings and concerns at some point during their pregnancy. Here you can talk about anything related to pregnancy.

Good morning everyone!! Im 40 years old, pregnant with my last baby. I was hoping someone on here could recommend a good doppler that wont kill my wallet. Im currently seven weeks and have had some problems over the last year with miscarriages. Just think the doppler will ease my mind a little. If you have any recommendations, plaese post on my page. this site is wonderful, ive made some great friends here thru my last two pregnancies and are still in contact with them. I hope you have the same experience! take care!

Congratulations Lana! Way to go! There is a forum called 'Advanced-age-and-pregnancy' in the right column where you can find some other 'mature' mums. I just missed out on being classified that as I was 34 when my twins were born, but one of my neighbours was 43 when she had her darling daughter... by herself... and she is amazing!!! Good luck!

lanak - 48 days ago.

dobbydidit - 50 days ago.
hi,am in my ninth wk and to day i have a realy strange taste in my mouth....abit like metallic as if i had eaten copper or something,is this normal.

xXxEXPLOxXx - 50 days ago.
I felt butterflies around week 9. I'm sure that was my body telling me there was something inside me, not the actual baby moving around. But, at my ultrasound toward the end of week 10, I saw the baby moving around and instantly thought the butterflies MUST be the baby. Sonographer said some women do experience movement (butterflies/gas-bubbles) around 9/10-weeks. First official kick was around week 16. By 20-weeks, I felt the kicks at least once a day.

vickiessecret - 50 days ago.
Just wondering when any of you ladies felt your babies move for the first time? I can't for the life of me remember when I felt my daughter move for the first time. I'll be 11 weeks on sunday..I know it's still a bit too soon, I just can't wait to feel movement.. Thanks :)

Bri - 51 days ago.
everonward - Good Luck on your u/s tomorrow! Congrats on the pregnancy

everonward - 51 days ago.
Hi to everyone. I just joined this site. I'm in the latter part of week 6 and have my official first ultrasound tomorrow and am a bit nervous. I had a prior miscarriage around this time -- heart rate was low and then stopped. A friend of mine who is an ultrasonographer scanned me this week -- heart rate was in the 80s one day and then increased to 104 - but still on the low side. Dont feel any nausea but do have breast tenderness. We'll see. I wish everyone well!

Bri - 51 days ago.
ambar, I agree with manda. If you really want this name then you should talk to her. But, if it's only in your top few names then maybe just deciding on another name would be more appropriate. It's probably hard enough that she sees you still pregnant when she's had this horrible loss. When I was pregnant with my son a new employ had just lost twins. I felt terrible and so did she but we're friends and she now treats my son like a child. My first option would be to decide on a different name but if you really want it then talk to her.

manda-may - 51 days ago.
Ambar are you close enough to this co-worker to have a heart to heart with her and clear the air about it? You might know her well enough to have an idea about whether talking to her might be a good idea or not. Everyone is different so you might have to judge whether bringing it up would be good for her and for you... and your relationship. How would you feel in her shoes, and is she the same sort of person as you? Is the name a big enough possibility for your child that you want to broach such a difficult subject? I think I would listen to your heart and your instincts here. Is this a person who you are going to know for years and so will be around to hear you speak of your child and hear the name often? Would she be hurt by hearing that name, or take it as a tribute or kind reminder of her baby? Good luck with your dilema. It's a really tricky one.

ambar - 52 days ago.
I have a dilema...my husband and I have a name in mind. However, its the same name that a co-worker had in mind for her baby. Unfortunately, she lost the baby. I really like the name but I feel I would be insensitive to her if I decided to go with that same name. When she said the name she was thinking of, I told her that was the name I liked (this was all before she miscarried). My husband and I have not completely decided on that name but it was one of our top names. Does anybody have any suggestions? Words of wisdom?
